Counter service and using your Disney Visa rewards card...

I would love to use my reward points for my counter service meals next week. Is this going to be any problem? Have any of you done this? I'll be doing counter service and F/W Festival for the most part, so want to use those points before they expire!!

Yes you can use your points for cs or ts . I was told by Disney.

Do you mean using your visa card or using your earned points? If you want to use your points (for example I have earned 33 points so far) you need to call the number and get the points converted into a gift card that you can use. I think that is the way it works, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You get the points loaded onto a Disney Rewards card. It took about one week for the card to come in the mail. There is a expiration date on the card so make sure you only load what you know you will use within that period. For the card I received, it is valid until December 2009. Once you have the card you may load points onto it anytime online. We have used that card at both counter service locations as well as table service restaurants. They simply swipe the card just like a credit card. The receipt will have the balance of your reward points on it. Very easy and a great use of those points!

Isn't it also possible to go to Guest Relations while you are on property & they can convert the points to a reward card? I thought my friend mentioned she did that on her last trip . . . .

I'm going to use my Disey Rewards too! I have 210 points on that baby! We have been saving! I plan on using it for our meals!

if you are staying on-site you can also use that reward card to fund your
KTTW card and then just use your room card for the actual purchases.

Thanks guys! I had points, but used 'em last year at WDW, in the shops. So, since I have 130+ points all transferred over to the card now, I wanted to use them to pay for food...and I'll be eating mostly counter service. Great news.

I know I've read that people were able to charge tips back to the room on their Key to the World card, so I see no reason why you couldn't do that and settle up at the end with either your Disney credit card and/or the transferred rewards on the Rewards 'debit' card.

You might want to start a thread on the DDP sub-forum above and ask for sure. Lots of DDP veterans should be able to help you with that.
