How does your family countdown for your DVC trips? We are headed down for Easter break with another DVC family. It's about 100 days away and we are getting together with this family on New Year's Eve. So . . I'm trying to create a countdown project for the kids (three girls 13, 12, & 9 and one boy 8) to do on New Year's Eve. I'd like to incorporate 100 Disney Quotes (which I'm looking for on another thread). Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mindy:flower3:

this website http://www.laughingplace.com/Trivia-Previous.asp lists a lot of trivia contests [quests and ans] - maybe you could construct a contest that would be appropriate for the older and younger ages.

if you search 'what to say to the characters' on the dis boards you will find lots of suggestions for character interaction and you could prepare your countdown list using the suggested quotes - the kids would be prepared to interact whith whatever character they might run into!

When we went in 2005, I downloaded some Disney clip art and made some slips of paper with the days on them; starting the countdown at 30. I'd leave them in funny places around the house and in my husband's car and lunchbox. Although the best one I left was in the toilet so when he lifted the lid....well....you get the idea. I snuck one into his bathroom the morning we left and put it on the back of the door underneath his towel. It's still there and he doesn't want me to remove it!

Then, at 10 days out, I came up with 10 trivia questions and if he got them right, he'd get something for the trip. It's all stuff we would've taken anyway: ponchos, band-aids, sunscreen, etc...

I'm a little perplexed this time around; I want to do something different but haven't come up with anything yet. We've got 77 days to go until we "go home" for the first time to VWL! I just know we're gonna love it!!!

Whoops....trying this again; I noticed my VWL banner is missing! Please ignore!

When the kids were younger we made a paper chain and removed one link a day.

The Disney Scene-It game is great fun! The kids might enjoy playing it. You need DVD player.

We've actually done this one before on New Year's Eve. You are right . . . it was lots of fun! All the adults in this group really enjoy friendly competition so we had a ball with that! This time though I'm really looking for some kind of project we can make/do. I'll probably be putting it together up until the last minute! DH is often "craftier" than I am so actually he'll probably be putting it together.

As of right now, we have 49 hours, 23 minutes until our plane leaves. Is that precise enough:confused3
