You should ask your question on the Technical board. Link provided above. They also have a special test board to try out your ticker.

Put it in your signature then it will automatically be in every post you make. You do that by clicking on User CP then Edit Signature. You put it there in the signature part and then save. I'm sure the technical board will do a lot better job at describing the steps then I did but at least this will give a bit of an idea.
