I posted this on the Family board but there doesn't seem to be too much traffic over there. I thought I would post here to see if you guys can help me come up with more questions too.

Our 5 & 7 year old nephews are joining us for our first family vacation. Last weekend when we were talking about the trip the 5 year old was asking how many more days were left until the trip. I've decided that tomorrow we will be making a chain link countdown with construction paper. They will decide if they will take the chain off at night or in the morning.

Here is where it gets different - some of the chains will have a question inside of them. I bought a notebook for their answers. I'm going to write one question per page and wrote one boy's name at the top and the other's name mid-way down the page. For the next question the other boy's name will be at the top so his answer will be at the top of the page.

Of course neither of them are old enough to write their own answers so their parents will have to do it for them. But I think this is a great interactive planning time for everyone. And I think it will be a great keepsake. It will go in one of our fireproof boxes after they finish it.

Here are some of my questions:

Who is the first character you want to see?
What character do you want to have your picture taken with?
What character do you want Chell to have her picture taken with?
What character do you want Larry to have his picture taken with?
What ride do you want to go on first?
What ride do you want to go on the most times?
Which park do you want to visit first?
What animal do you want to see most at the Animal Kingdom?
If you could spend the night in a park where would you sleep?
Is there a special treat you want to eat at Disney?

I'm trying to stay simple in the questions but trying to make them think at the same time. The boys have been before on a short trip and we have talked about it a lot. I've tried to keep the boys interested in the planning so they really feel like this is their trip too.

Do you have any suggestions for questions that I could include?

We've got everything ready for them to get started when they get here in 2 hours. I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Sounds cute.

? ideas

How many miles do you think we'll walk in a day at disneyworld?

Do you think we will need to pack a jacket?

How many pairs of underwear are you going to bring?

Is there any shows that you want to see?

Do you know where any hidden mickeys are?(My little guys LOVED looking for these everywhere we went) We rode the haunted mansion several times looking for the ones in there. Once they found one they wanted to find others.
Have fun!

Thanks Java! I'm writing the questions in their book right now.

I just realized that I should have gotten some stickers for the book. Guess I'm going to have to get those soon and add them later.
