I came up with this wonderful way to countdown to our WDW trip in October. and I wanted to share with you all. I went out and bought a 2006 calendar and bought some bright stickers. Each of my boys take turns putting a sticker on each day. We have some that are letters and we are going to spell out Walt Disney World on that last 15 days before we leave.

I Hope some of you enjoy this with you kids as much as I have :yay:

Thanks

Another idea is to make a paper chain with the exact number of days left before your trip. Each day your child/children can take off one link. This way they can "see" that the chain is getting shorter just like the # of days before your trip. The only exception would be for those of you who plan for a whole year....that would be one long chain. :rotfl:

We did the chain when we took DS the first time. He helped me make it and we wrote all of his favorite Disney characters on each link. He was always sooo excited to take the links of the chain each morning when he got out of bed!!

Another countdown thing that I did when we went was made an email each day (starting about day 45) that I sent to everyone that was going. We live in GA and inlaws live in AL. I did a theme each day, a different disney movie, and used clip art from the internet to jazz it up. I tried to even use some phrases that came from each movie. Everyone loved them. And I can't wait to do it again in the spring.

I've done a simular calendar thing. Printed calendar pages off my PC and wrote the number of days to go on each date. Then we used thumbnail size photos from prior trips instead of stickers to cover up the old days countdown. It was fun anticipating what we would do & see using old photos.

For my upcomming trip I did a chain at 100+ days out. It used to hang over my DS's bedroom door nearly touching the floor on both sides. Now its very short.

To the OP: Have a great first trip!!!
