Couldn't make it through the Fat Fast edited to show MY RESULTS!!!

I tried to make it through 4 days.
I did ok for bfst with my cream cheese, lunch I had the macadamia nuts, but I came home from work famished. I knew that cream cheese was not going to cut it.
I have a terrible cold, I am taking sudafed which multiplies my hunger and my son made the most delicious smelling steak.
So I grabbed a hunk of steak and chowed down. I just couldn't resist, and the way I feel I needed some comfort food. It was either this or something really bad for me.
I planned on starting back on induction with a 1200 calorie limit tomorrow so I dont' think it was so bad.
NOw everyone needs to tell me that it was not that bad please.

It really isn't as bad as it seems...You could have grabbed a piece of pie or cookies or cake when you got home...instead you had meat. I think that is wonderful! The Fat Fast is hard and you should be proud that you made it through 4 days! The first time I tried the Alex Challenge, I didn't make it through, but I did make it 5 days and that was a huge accomplishment!

You are doing great on your plan!! Hugs!
 
Peggie, there are so many possibilities of things you could've had but didn't. The steak was a good thing compared to the other things i.e. cake, cookies, junk in general. To fat fast is hard to do but to do it when you are sick is very hard.

Hope you are 100% soon! Good luck with your 1200 calories! Onward and DOWNWARD!!

Don't beat yourself up! Steak isn't such a bad thing, especially on Atkins, right? :) Like the others said, at least it wasn't a carb fest on your part!!!! You didn't eat an entire potato or a gallon of ice cream loaded with sugar!

So....care to share your results? Did the 3 3/4 days you stuck with it pay off for ya? :) I sure hope so!
 

My goodness! If that's all you did wrong, I think you succeeded at the fast! (unless it was a 16 oz porterhouse . . .) When you go to 1200 remember to keep the fat percentage high - over 75%. I had to use fitday to keep track once we finished the fast!

today was my official weigh in for the end of my fat fast.
I tried to make it through all 4 days but needed beef last night. I have the worst head cold and I just had to chew something to make my teeth hurt less. Did you ever have one of those colds where your teeth hurt?

Anyhow, I got on the scale at work today and I lost 12 lbs total. 12 Lbs in just 3 1/2 days.
On Induction
I lost 6 lbs week 1
gained 2 lbs week 2
gained 4 lbs week 3
nothing gained nothing lost week 4

Did Fat Fast, lost 12 lbs.
Now I hope I can keep those lbs off and continue to lose. I started at 192, am now at 180, and goal is 150 or size 10-12.
I am starting a 1200 calorie Induction the way they said to in the book after doing the fat fast.
I will try this for a few more weeks and then do the fat fast again the week before I go to FL in Sept. My plan is to make my summer clothes (size 14) fit a little better, I haven't seen any changes in the fit yet, even with the 12 lbs. Peggie
 
newbie to Atkins here, still considering it, but what exactly is the fat fast?
 
The Fat Fast is recommended for those who are having trouble losing on Induction part of Atkins. If your hormones or thyroid are out of wack this will give it a boost to help lose some weight.
I don't know much about it other than it worked for me. I read about it and ate what they recommended.
I am having my thyroid and hormones tested next week but I have a terrible summer cold and don't feel like I could give blood because I am so tired with this cold.
I can't find the site on the internet about Fat fast, but I read about it in the Atkins book. Hope you bought the book it has tons of great recipes and will give you answers to some of the questions about how and why it works. And things to say to the family when they tell you that you are not eating healthy. Peggie
