Couldn't believe the good luck!

Just had to share this...I know everyone on free dining is feeling the agony and ecstasy of making ADR's. By a stroke of good luck, Teppan Edo was overbooked by 1,000 customers the night we had confirmed ADR's(September 28) so last Thursday, Disney Dining called me to explain the situation and told me she could book me anywhere I wanted except Le Cellier. I told her I had Le Cellier booked but would love to book O'Hana. I couldn't believe this...she said "NO problem!!!" This is the same restaurant I have been checking on for weeks to no availability!!! I hate the overbooking problem for Disney but what a stroke of luck for me!!

Ohanas was great again this year.

We got in Teppan this year as well. While it was a fun experience for the group it was SO VERY SALTY (steak and chicken) that I got ill afterward. Literally ILL that night and it was not a pretty sight! I knew it after I ate, my head started pounding and then a few hours later UGH, sick! I was the only one that felt this way, so its really about ME/MY reaction to the food and not the restaurant per say, but it is not on my repeat list. The only time I got sick the entire trip, definitely was the reaction to the food (and Yeah I am one of those "sensitive" people, unfortunately.)

What would cause them to be OVERBOOKED by 1,000 people? That seems extreme.

I gave up my free dining because I called 90 days out and every place I wanted was book, breakfast lunch and dinner. I am going room only and the trip is cheaper, I look at it this way I pay for food at home, I am not little ones so I will go outside the park to eat most of the time. I think free dining isnt so free once you start figuring it all out

I believe it was 1000 reservations over the whole month of September, not just that day

I am very glad you got a reservation that you had truly been wanting! I was reading about the folks who had their ADRs cancelled. Sounds like a mess!

way to go on getting Ohana. I just hope they don't over book Ohanas now. I have ressies on 9-24 @ 8:40pm and have been looking online and calling every other day to see if they have anything earlier, I get the same answer nope nothing available.

I had my Teppen Edo replaced with Ohana too! We had adrs for lunch on the 27th and I was able to replace with dinner at Ohana. Them calling and cancelling ending up making my day!

I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad they got you somewhere else, but I'm worried that with all the Teppen overflow that the other restaurants are going to get slammed.

Thanks to all! I think the Disney representative said that a computer glitch caused the oversight on the Teppan Edo overages. It just makes me wonder how they can so easily get an ADR at O'Hana when it shows absolutely no openings. I know they can override reservations and, yes, I hope the alternate restaurant isn't overbooked, too! I guess we will find out in 24 more days!!!! Woohoo!!! Doin' the happy dance!!!!
