We are going to OKW April 9 and our relatives want to join us, and they will pay cash for their accomodations. I went to the Disney Site and was amazed at the prices they are charging. What a bargain DVC seems to be!!!!
Although, if you have an annual pass you do get a good discount.

Oh, can they rent points? It is really, really expensive to pay cash for the villas!

That's the main reason I bought DVC. I loved the 1 bedrooms but I wasn't going to pay $400 per night for them!

A Co-worker of my DH is taking his family to WDW in April. They booked a 2 Bedroom Villa at BWV for over $900 a night. It is great to own DVC!!! :cool1:

It's actually cheaper for me to get an AP discount than to rent pts for a one bedroom for our upcoming trip. Plus I get housekeeping.
We will be looking into buying after this trip :)

Really? You got a 1BR at VWL at an AP rate less than renting points for it? Is that because you are staying there on the weekend? During the week I think its 30 points per night (app $265 plus tax). Thats a great AP rate for a !BR at VWL.

The cash prices for the one and two bedroom villas are very reasonable and are in line with what you pay for a similar units in other areas. There is nothing high about them, in fact, considering they are in WDW they are a little low. I am assuming they are in good order which is another story at DVC.

It's $124 cheaper over 11 nights based on renting for $10 a pt. Not much, but I like having housekeeping.

11 nights?-lucky. Yea thats why I asked about the weekend or not. It looked like you may be at GF for the weekend or something which would change the cost quite a bit. Did you run the numbers renting during the week and cash on the weekends? Assuming you wouldn't have to move of course.

I tried renting pts some time back, but there wasn't any availability then. Then I decided to just go ahead and check an AP discount when I saw that there was some availability online. We'll be there from April 14th-25th. I did two reservations. One for three nights during peak season and the rest are during regular season.
I could save $522 if I did rent during the week. Maybe I should look into it, but we have so much going on since we are moving before we go to WDW.

Either way sounds awesome. I am interested in the weekend rate you got in case we stay at VWL on points during the week and AP cash on the weekend.
Have a great time.

Our AP rate during peak season is $448, for regular season it's $379. Both rates include tax.
