Could YOU pass the INS test?

One of my medical students is a native of China, and had to report to Immigration and Naturalization in Chicago last week to finalize his naturalization.


In that process, he was asked to name the 2 US Senators from Illinois.

(He did, and got them right.)

Which got me to thinking: Can YOU name your 2 US Senators?

I can: Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), and Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

I checked the sample INS test when DH got his packet from them on our last visit, yes, I could pass the test - yay me!!

I could name mine, but couldn't name them all. If random states were thrown at me, I'd be completely at a loss. I don't know what all is on the INS test, but if it included a bunch of dates, I'd probably flunk it.

I could pass it if I had just recently been studying for it. I think I know my two Senators--Bond and Talent. Reps no way. Now to look it up to see if I'm right.

Yes, he is officially an Illinois resident, hence, he was asked the Senators from Illinois.

By the way, they are Senators Durbin and Obama.

my daughters go to high school with our Congressman's daughter -- the young lady is in my older dd's class. if I didn't know who he was, it would be a sorry state of affairs.

Although I know my state's senators, I would have to study. My son is taking it (his junior high principal is from Canada and taking his INS test this year, so they are all taking it). I got the 13 colonies wrong. I think I put Vermont instead of Delaware.

I didn't study (love that one) but I think they are Mel Martinez (R) and Bill Nelson (D).
