Could you help me plan meals...

I know the first night we will be eating at Disneyland hotel for character meal. The next day we will just grab a pastry and coffee on main street and Blue Bayou for late lunch. My question is where to eat breakfast and late lunch for our day at DCA? A quick but good breakfast is fine but with a 4yo and my DM who is 81 we would like a nice sit down meal mid-day. Any suggestions? TIA..Julie

A lunch at Whitewater Snacks is a must do for us each visit! It is actually in the CGH but very near DCA. You just use the DCA exit to the CGH. Then turn left at the end of breeze way and there you are. It is cool and quiet in there. We have also found it be very uncrowded on even the most crowded of days. We found 1pm to be a good time there. It would be a great place for a four year old and 81 year old to take a break. They can sit at a table while while you go order for them. They have things to grab out of the fridge and you get cooked to order things like burgers, nachos, etc. You pay at the register and they bring the food out to you. The prices are reasonable.

Our favorite is the Chicken Sandwhich (think chicken burger) that comes with guacamole. DH and I split one and we are stuffed. It isn't open late so, it needs to be a lunch meal.

And to make it even better, there are some very uncrowded bathrooms right next to WWS. You pass them on the way.

DCA doesn't open until 10:00, so I'd suggest eating breakfast before you get into the park. La Brea Bakery in DTD is good for a cheapish, quick breakfast, especially at the express window. If you want something quick, I'd go there.
For a nice sit-down lunch, I'd picK Wine Country Tratoria in DCA or Storyteller's Cafe in the Grand.

Whitewater also has a nice breakfast..good prices. We love to get the burrito and split it and then my DH gets a cinnamon roll as an extra for himself. I have also heard you can order a breakfast plate (eggs, bacon, potatoes) that isn't listed on the menu.

I found the walk to Mimi's cafe worth it for breakfast - it took us about 10 minutes to walk there and the selection was phenomenal - plus they had great coffee (which I found very rare at DL unfortunately). Great full breakfast for under $10.

For lunch we ate at Pacific Wharf Cafe (counter service but nice shady places to eat. The sandwiches were great, as were the bread bowls (we had corn chowder with ours - mmmmm) - Also try the cinnamon rolls - wow they were good and can be split between at least 3 or 4 people.

Finally - best value of all is at DTD Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express. Their rice and beans was awesome, as was the Jambalaya. And you MUST try the beignets...I am not a donut fan but these were amazing!
