I have been lurking here for weeks trying to get some ideas for my first Disney scrap project. Would you mind helping me? Please! :) I did a sorority scrapbook for my daughter a couple of years ago and had a blast doing it. Now I have an import book to do....my Disney honeymoon. I am marrying the most wonderful man in the world and yes, it was a fairytale story so only Disney would do for a honeymoon.

When you do a book how do you start? Do you pick a theme? We are honeymooning Nov. 30 - Dec. 7. I was trying to get some ideas beforehand. Do any of you put your ideas together before you go on a trip?

My next project will be a book for my grandson who was born Tuesday!

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated I am a little OVERWHELMED!

I have ordered a cricut expression too!

Except for thinking about a few photo opportunities that I didn't want to miss, I didn't plan my first Disney scrapbook (just completed last month, the trip was in August '07). I took a lot of photos and saved things like maps, unused fast passes, receipts, stuff like that. I printed my photos and then planned my layouts. There are lots of great layouts posted in the Virtual scrapbook that will give you ideas. You could also check out the Cricut message boards for more layout ideas.

The Expression will help you a LOT. It's a great tool.....I LOVE mine! If you want to go with a fairy tale theme, you might want to get the Happily Ever After cartridge.....I think the Cinderella stuff would be fun to use for a wedding book. Stretch Your Imagination and Paper Dolls also have some good wedding stuff on them. SYI also has some baby stuff:).

First of all, Welcome DAWG!!!! LOL We used to live North East of Atlanta, 1/2 way between Atlanta and Athens.

Anyway, you will be there when the Holiday decorations will be up so there will be lots of photo ops for trees and other holiday type decor.

I typically don't pre-plan my pages because I never know what DH is going to take pics of. But for my wedding album (sadly non disney) I did 4 colors, pale yellow, black, grey, and white. It really made it go quickly. I plan to do the same thing for my BFF's album too. EKsuccess makes some beautiful Cinderella embellishments, you can look at those here:

this might help you get going in the right direction.

ETA: you will love your expression!! I wouldn't give mine up for anything!

I would start looking for Disney (and honeymoon/wedding) embellishments/papers/stickers and go from there. I bought a lot of things in "The World"...I know - it's more expensive - but I would see things that "That would go great w/ the pics I JUST took!"

I've seen a lot of import pages and books - but I don't know how people do it! You have to make sure you're taking a pic horizontally/vertically...I like to crop my pics to a variety of shapes - and you just never know until you have the pics in hand.

Too - I base the colors of the paper/embellishments off of the colors/clothes that are in the pics. Again - you can't know that before hand!!

It might be a good idea to plan for some black and white pics -- and pre-make some pages knowing that what will go in is a good black and white pic of you & your (to be) husband.

I'm sure that whatever you do - they will be beautiful - but you might find that no matter what you make now, you'll make more to accomodate your real pics.
