Could this backfire?

I called and asked a CM if we would possibly get a code because we are going over our 2 yr old's birthday. since he doesn't need a ticket, I don't know if that excludes him. She offered me a 40% off code! Is there any way this could backfire when we get there since I don't have the pin #? We aren't going on his birthday but the week before.

I highly doubt that a CM could have just offered the OP a pin, if it wasn't already attached to his name. I have called before to check if I have a pin, and have had one, but never received any notification of it by email or snail mail.

Did you go ahead and book? If you booked and paid a deposit, I don't see any chance of it "backfiring"?

I'm also shocked the CM just "offered" you a code, but I would have jumped on it!

I would also be shocked if a CM had the authority just to hand out a code, but it is possible the code was already attached to your name and you didn't realize it.

The code was already attached to your household, the CM didnt just throw one out there. And Disney does not require any proof at check in of a pin code, thats why the CM's verify at time of booking

Exactly, when you book they give you all the price totals and everything so you know exactly what you're paying. So, as long as those numbers jive, then you're price will remain what they tell you, and send to you on your correspondence from them.
