I honestly dont get it. I dont get the hype; he is GREAT his speaches, but that's all I see that's good about him honestly.
His health care plan actually scares me. The health care plan in Canada is a failure, why would we copy them? If I was having a having a heart attack and someone off the streets came in having one 5mins before me I will have to wait. I dont get why people want the government to have MORE control. I just dont see anything good with this plan at all. Unless your job is utter crap you wont benefit from this.
I mean are the troops not going to start coming back in January? We still have troops in Vietnam and Baghdad, why wouldnt we still have some in Iraq? I dont get this one at all. Why do people even bring up the war any more?
Obama (imo) is shady. I does have connections to terrorists (that came from CNN, not Fox so dont play that card). If McCain or Bush had connections like that Obama would pull that card every chance he got. I know I personally would not have voted Bush if he had those connections.
I just dont get his appeal. Why do people like him (serious question), please explain. So many people want change and Obama throws that word around so much that you think of "change" and you think "Obama". He's blinded people, imo.
P.S.- I'm not one of the crazy people that think he will destroy the country with terrorist attacks and become a dictator, lol. I simply dont understand him or why people worship him.
I would like this peaceful please, I dont like debates that get nasty.
This is hard in that there is so much to say and I don't want it to be one of those posts that are so long no one reads them.
Lets see:
On the issue of energy, I think Obama has a very clear, detailed plan that is realistic. I like that he says we will push detroit for more efficient cars. I'm a tree hugger that doesn't like that he supports off-shore drilling, but I do like that he isn't afraid to say that he does because he recognizes it as necessary. McCain says he is for alternate energy forms but his voting history doesn't really support that all that well.
I can't stand Bush and what he has done to this country. Obama voted against the war, showing clear foresight. McCain didn't and has voted with Bush 90% of the time. More importantly, during this endless campaign he has never once explained how he is different from Bush.
Obama is highly intelligent and extraordinarily compassionate. I am tired of not having international respect because our President um, not. I am tired of having a my way or the highway president. McCain, while politically clever, just does not compare to Obama in either respect.
I like the Obama healthcare plan because it continues to give people choice. It is thoughful in that it seeks to expand coverage to so many people while at the same time recognizing that costs need to be cut in some areas. McCain's plan is more of an across the board this is how it is now deal with it. His policy terrifies me both as a healthcare provider and a mother.
I will get a substantially bigger tax break under Obama than McCain.
Obama presents himself as very much of a family man. I watch his body language with his wife and children and it seems so genuine. It is inspiring.
I'm appalled by McCain's voting record against vets and am grateful for Obama's voting record for them.
Obama recognizes that the conflict in Iraq is bankrupting this country and that a solution to bring home troops home needs to be done sooner than later. He also shows a clear understanding of where the real problems lie.
His conduct during the economic crisis was calm, thoughful and inspiring. His opponent's was erratic, confusing and untruthful.
His VP is qualified to fill his shoes.
OK, it's getting long, let me know if you need more!
