Could I make it to Wishes after our ADR?

We're going to wdw in October, and our park days except one happen to be on the days that the mnsshp is going on. Neither of us are terribly interested in it, but I do want to try and see Wishes on this trip, since we didn't see it last time (keeping DD5 up that late would have made us ALL miserable, this next trip is just me and *future* DH).

So on the night the party isn't going on, we have an ADR at Teppan Edo in EP at 8:20 (we do have park hoppers btw). I'm still trying to push it up a bit earlier, but if not, is there any chance of being able to get to MK in time to catch Wishes after dinner? We would likely take the monorail.

Your meal would be pretty rushed.

I've watched Illuminations before and made it to Main Street in time for the 1000 Wishes, but Japan is on the far side of the lagoon and to get to the monorail or to the Beach Club to catch the bus will certainly take some time.

Agree with above poster. Your meal would be very rushed (remember there is no guarantee you will be seated exactly at 8:20 for your ADR). You may be able to make it to MK for Wishes but you will be close to start time and may not have a great viewing location.

I think it's highly unlikely. Even if you are seated on time, Teppan Edo will take 45 minutes to an hour. That leaves you 40 minutes to walk all the way to the front of the park and, hopefully, catch a monorail immediately. I would either move Teppan Edo earlier or switch it to another night and get an ADR at MK or an MK resort on your Wishes night.

If you really wanted to press your luck. See about a cab from Boardwalk or Beach club to the Contemporary and walk from there. Less likely to encounter a delay on the monorail.

Yeah, agreeing with Robo. While if you show up early and get seated on time, you might be able to make it out of there by 9:15 (Teppan Edo is one of the shorter dining experiences at WDW), the monorail almost always accumulates a lengthy line after Epcot's closing (assuming Epcot closes at the typical 9:00pm closing time), plus it usually takes a good 20 mins to get from the Epcot station to MK station with the transfer and such.

The safer bet would be to show up a little after 8 at Teppan Edo and hope they'll seat you a little earlier, so you can be out of there around 9ish. If you walk out to the BC and take a cab/Uber to the Contemporary and walk, you should be able to make it but it would be close. Keep trying for an earlier ADR. If you check multiple times a day, I'm sure you'll get something by October.

Walk to the IG, walk to the Beach Club, taxi to CR, walk to MK, clear security, and swim upstream on Main Street in less than 40 minutes? I don't think so.

Thanks for the advice everyone. After battling with MDE for a bit, I managed to move our ADR to 6:40 instead. So hopefully that gives us plenty of time. :)
