Could Chester&Hester's change to Zootopia?

This is NOT a rumor or a report. Just an idea I had while watching this movie with the kid's this weekend. I know there's a lot of people who hate the Chester&Hester's area of Dinoland USA, so maybe this idea will get some traction with that group. I just thought that the film was very well done, and the characters would probably be huge hits with the kids. Not only that, the theming of Zootopia would be a great addition to this area of the Animal Kingdom. I mean, there's no way it could be any worse than what it is now.

I realize with Avatarland coming to AK, this is just a pipe dream. But would it be a good idea for Disney to invest in it's own movies and start franchising the films they make themselves rather than pretending they're Universal and buying rights to some other dude's films? And with a film with great marketing appeal like Zootopia, I think it's a good place to start.

Highly unlikely. While the Chester and Hester theming may seem tacky, that's how it's intended. There's a huge backstory on how C&H and Dinosaur ride area all correlate. So for them to change it, it would take a lot of work and ruin the backstory.

Also, who's to say Zootopia will have that much of a lasting effect where a section of the park would be transformed into that? I can see a meet and greet, but I can't see a section of the park made for Zootopia

It has a higher chance of being converted to Frozen than Zootopia. The story line doesn't fit that area or the park. C&H does have a story and I've personally never understood the hate for that area. I've always found it enjoyable.

I like the Dino-Rama theme, though I'm not a big fan of the carny games. I'd prefer just another small ride or something. I love that it looks like it's on an old parking lot and Primevil Whirl is more fun than it looks.

Yeah, no. Keep your meathooks off Dinosaur! It's one of the best rides at AK. I like Dinoland just as it is.

I really like that area, even its tackiness. I feel those who don't like it haven't paid attention to the backstory.

I like that area of Animal Kingdom and don't really have a problem that it doesn't really "fit" like some people. But, that being said...I think there is a lot more that could be done there than what they have now. Zootopia would fit in nicely and the possibilities would be cool! Great idea!

Sometimes it seems like this has already occurred, because it feels like sloths are running the Primeval Whirl ride.

I LOVED Zootopia but NOOOO! Chester and Hester's/Dinoland USA is my favorite area of AK. I wouldn't want this change. (although it would be cute!)

I would love some Zootopia theming - HUGE fan of that movie and could definitely see the potential... but not there I LOVE Dinosaur, one of my favorite rides period, and I don't just mean in that park. Dinoland has it's charms.

Not zootopia. but just ditch that entire area for something else. It just doesn't feel Disney at all .. and it doesn't seem to fit the Animal Kingdom at all. Two rides you can find at your State Fair and some carnival games?

I am .. but only because I've read about it online. I didn't really find anything at the park that really shouted at you "This is the backstory!" ..

Even with the backstory, it just doesn't feel like Disney.

To me, it's feels quintessentially Disney... much in the same way Storybook Circus feels like Disney. It's a cartoon confection, very much in the spirit of all those lighthearted Disney shorts.

Plus, it makes me feel all nostalgic for the seaside carnivals I remember from the Jersey Shore when I was a kid (and what's more purely Disney than nostalgia?).

Disney really knocked it out of the ballpark with that area. Great execution of an awesome idea. A real home run!!
