Cots/rollaways in the DVCs?

We are renting a bay lake grand villa. It will be my family of 4 and my sisters family of 4 plus two grandmothers. None of the kids are old enough to sleep on the pullout, so I am trying to figure out the best sleep arrangements. Last time, we had the grandmothers share a double room, my sister and her family took the other double room and my family took the master. My twins were young enough to sleep in pack and plays.
Where do my kids sleep? Do the DVCs allow rollaway beds? Of not, is there an offsite company that rents kids cots?

DVC will not provide cots or rollaways. You can bring whatever, so long as you are within occupancy limits. But they won't provide.

We are running into a similar problem for one night of our next split stay. We are going to be 2 nights in a Resort 2 bedroom suite (not DVC). Our 6 yr old DGD needs a place to sleep one night without sharing a queen pull out with an adult she does not know. We are considering packing an inflatable pool type floater raft for her to sleep on for that one night. Again the resort will provide the bedding if we ask. Once we get into the DVC villas the resort where we are staying has a pull out chair (single bed) and a pull out queen couch. So she will be good there.

Also a few resorts do have cribs instead of pack-n-plays but you have to ask and they are not guaranteed.

Believe occupancy would be 12 plus an under age 3 there. You are well under the max allowed.

The master is nice but have you considered taking the double room to be able to keep an eye on the kids in the next bed, at least all in the same room sleeping that way. It's my understanding you can request bed rails.

Not sure if bed rails would work on sofa bed, but it does sit lower than the beds there.

Otherwise, I'd go with the inflatable bed idea.

My son was sleeping on a sofabed while at my brothers from when he was 17 months, FWIW. I was with him on one side, but the other side and the back I just lined with the cushions. Of course, he slept in a bed at home, so perhaps he was just more used to staying safe by not rolling all over the place.

Wow I did not know that. I guess we have just been lucky when we asked for sheets and an extra blanket. Maybe we just asked nicely?

While I know the official policy states that they won't provide bedding, we have never been denied a request for additional sheets and blankets. (We always pack a twin size air bed - my DDs each need their own space to sleep.)

At that age I traveled with an inflatable bed with raised edges that is the size of a crib mattress, it takes a lot less space than the cots, but will take half a suitcase to take 2.
Have you thought about sending a cheap inflatable twin bed through amazon and just leave it? it will cost ~30
not sure if your twins will sleep together.

When we needed that extra bed for younger one we took the cushions from the sofa bed you are removing anyway, wrapped a sheet and with pillow and blanket she had a nice junior sized bed. We didn't have to bring anything with us.

You won't get a rollaway in a DVC villa, request or not.

Based on the prior posting, I think she's in a non-DVC suite where she's hoping for the rollaway; child will use the chair bed when they move to the DVC unit.

Yes Auroraborealis, you are exactly correct. We requested the roll away for the Non-DVC nights in Jambo Resort level. I have been assured there is a pull out chair once we get to Kidani.

In bay lake the sofa bed is right near the top of a set of stairs and on a separate floor from the master room so that wont work for any of the kids. The group is two grandmas (who each need a bed, but are fine sharing a room and are a bit too old to comfortably sleep on a pull out without back pain). My sister, her husband and her then 7 and 2 year old (so they need two beds- 1 parent in bed with each kid) and then my husband and I and are then 2 year old twins so weened two beds. All the kids already sleep in beds so that is not an issue. Its just an issue of keeping an eye on all the kids. We need 6 beds for 6 adults, 1 kid and 3 toddlers. We are way under occupancy.

Anyone know if the pullout is a normal pullout bed or the "one piece" comfortable ones that the poly and gf are using? If the mattress comes off, we can just lay it on the floor of the master for the kids. That would be ideal in fact. We just did a poly/gf split stay and the mattresses could not come off the beds. The twins slept on the pullouts together just fine though since they already sleep in beds at home.

Strangest place for a sofa bed, what were they thinking when designing it? Doesn't seem fair to be so far under occupancy and the bedding still doesn't work. Good luck

Kingdom Strollers rents a toddler-size inflatable bed. I can't speak specifically to the airbeds, but we have used them for stroller rentals & had a good experience.

Ooo, this is a good idea! We're staying in a DVC studio this summer and are planning to have our girls share the pullout, but if for some reason they have trouble sleeping in the same bed this sounds like a good solution.

There is a sleeper sofa in the living room of the grand villa according to the room layouts on the DVC website. It has sleeping spaces for 14, but still only has occupancy of 12. The extra sleeper sofa is just to offer a way for families to sleep.
