So we have four 12 year olds going to the Oogie Boogie Bash this year. They want to be princesses but not a typical costume because that is too little kiddish. 😭

My daughter does a lot of Disney-bounding and while she loves it I feel like maybe dressing up just a bit more for the bash would be fun.

Any ideas for these girls? We have an Ariel, Rapunzel, Aurora and a Belle.

Or if anyone has a really cool group costume idea that they want to share for four girls send that too!

When my older teen daughter was Auroa a few years back we found a off the shoulder pink dress from shein that was a bit shimmery with the fabric. That, plus a chunky gold necklace and some sleeping beauty Minnie ears worked as sort of a cross between a full costume and disbounding.

Okay maybe a dumb question. I've never ordered from Shein but see they have some cute stuff that would work when I Google ideas. Is it legit? Like as in the clothing is not just throw away stuff? I am still an in person shopper for most clothing and have a hard time ordering from sites. Lol, I'm old school because I like to touch the fabric.

My 11 year old and her two friends did the 3 Stich characters last year. I know that’s only 3 but maybe one could be Liilo?

Are they into the Decendants? They could each be one of those characters.

I'd head to a few thrift stores to find fancy prom or wedding dresses that are the right colors. Find someone who can tailor each dress to your teens. Shorter dressers are something I think would be fun. Fancy accessories like glittery belts, long white gloves, earrings and necklaces along with tiaras (WM) should do it. Sounds like fun!!

I wish they were still into Descendants. They've gotten out of that. This age is so hard. They feel too grown up for costumes but in my mind they are still just babies.

The style of dresses my daughter and niece used are likely too grown up for 12, they were 18 and 19 when they were Cinderella and Auroa, but one option they considered were the running dresses on Etsy and that might work.

Auroa
Belle
Rapunzel
Ariel 1
Ariel 2

...like silk and satin LOL!! I have never looked at fancy dresses at Goodwill, but I did get a pair of $15 Burberry wool pants for my son to wear at graduation when he earned his doctorate. Good clothes are timeless.

You might find really expensive dresses for a bargain that just need a tweak. Senior day is Tuesday 20% off, so bring Mom or MIL. My DIL wore two dresses just for the wedding and reception. One was bought in NYC for a small fortune. They are both in my attic along with my wedding dress, but many people finally get tired of storing them.

There is nothing that feels better than a quality dress and maybe you can hand them down to other girls after. :tink:

Great idea! My mom is a skilled seamstress, and a senior. I'll have her go with me.

It would be fun to dress as Aurora with a mix of blue and pink…one pink sock and blue shoe, and then mix and match a top and bottom for a modern take…throw on a blonde wig if they are willing, if not style the hair they have and add aurora crown/ jewelry…they could choose how dressy or casual to go….and could do something similar if another princess is favored… I also really like Emma Stone’s looks as Cruella… I think that could be fun for a teen girl… if they are not into the princesses…

What about the princess's secondary outfits?

Belle in her blue and white outfit carrying a book, Ariel in her nightgown or the dress she wears on land, Aurora in her forest dress, Rapunzel in her dress later in the movie, or the same purple dress but with her short dark hair.

My 12 year old daughter and her two friends decided to be Winnie the Pooh and friends with more ā€œgrown upā€ look. Similar to this with leggings and high tops and we are looking for some fun Disney ears to go with it.

Oooh Cruella could be so cool. They could each do a different version of a movie outfit.

If your girls are into Wreck-It Ralph as well, maybe you could consider dressing up as some of the Sugar Rush racers (Rancis, Candlehead, and especially Vanellope).
