Ok so we are going to the halloween party this year with extended family for a total of 7- 2 mom's, 2 dad's, 1 8yr old girl, 1 5yr old girl, and 2yr old boy. My husband and my sister-in-law think it would be so cool to dress up. So how many people actually dress up to go to this party? and do you have any suggestions for what 7 people with 2 princesses could go as? I think we need to split the clan if we are ,but sister-in-law is hung up on us having a theme although she has no clue what. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.:confused3

when we went (yeas ago) People were dressed up. i was about 10 at the time and we had easy costumes, I was a Mexican girl, I wore a bright mexican fiesta skirt and a white shirt and my mom put clips with flowers in my hair. My little brother was a pirate with a stripped shirt and a hat. If you want to dress up I would go with simple outfits, I know family fun has some easy costumes that are essentially just on a t-shirt. which would be easy to make, pack and wear.

With that combination you're really going to have to think out of the box. Lots of people do dress up and there are other board that youcan go on to get some ideas. We're going this year for the first time with a Snow White theme.. mom as evil withc, dad as magic mirror 6dd as snow white and dd 8mos as poison apple!!! You may have to think of costume such as props aka apple...I'll do some brain storming and see if I can come up with any starting points for you. Have a great time!! I know we will..:yay:

You didnt say when you are going but remember it will be warm.

I just picked up an orange pumpkin tee shirt.

We are going in mid October so I do know it will be warm. I also don't want to take up alot of luggage space.Sister-in-law had the idea of everyone wearing matching flannel bottoms and t- shirt tops with mickey on them, but I just don't know if people will get that we are the mickey pajama gang.

Mouseketeers - Black shorts, white shirts with your name on them and ears.

Dalmations - White shorts and shirts with spots painted on w/fabric paint. White baseball caps with black felt ears, and spots painted on the hats with fabric paint.

Pirates - black shorts, cut up a white t-shirt, bandana, and an earring.

Keep in mind that it could still be really hot/warm when you go.

We went almost 10 years ago (YIKES!) and plan to go again next year. many many people were dressed up, and most of those who didn't dress up either wore Halloween-themed t-shirts, silly hats, face-paint, or something.

10 years ago, DD (then 5), was a Pink Poofy Princess. DH had an Aladdin-like costume, and I went as the Wicked Witch from Snow White. Lesson learned: long dresses, capes, and full skirts are HARD to get off and on rides with.

Next year, we will be travelling with my mom and step-dad. We are all going to do a Peter Pan theme. My mom has agreed to be Peter Pan (but we SO owe her), DD9 will be Wendy, and DD6 will be Tinkerbell. My step-dad will be Captain Hook, and the rest of us will be assorted Pirates and Indians. I am thinking I will probably be Mr Smee. :lmao:

I like the Mouseketeers idea... easy to put together at WDW.

We went in Sept last year..We only wore Halloween Tshirts. It wa about 85 degrees with 100% humidity that night..My daughter wouldn't evven wear her Jasmine costume we brought. It was HOT...I felt so bad because I saw so many kids in heavy costumes, and even saw a few babies in those furry ones:scared1:

When my family went we all dressed up as black eyed peas. We all had black shirts on with orange "P"s on the front all decorated. We put black eye liner around one of our eyes and most people could figure out what we were dressed up as.

Just last year when we went, we were dolmations. Each of us had a white shirt and my mom put polka dots all over the shirts with black sharpie and painted a "collar and tag" around the neck of the shirt. that was my favorite costume so far, but we still have this years costumes! :woohoo:

See I knew this was the right place to ask. Thank you for the ideas. I'm not settled totally yet although I am leaning towards the mouseketeers so keep em rollin in.
