Costume help...creative idea for undergarment please!

I read on a thread about doing the luau/grass skirt thing for MNSSHP. While I already have a costume idea planned, I'm going to have this as a back up plan in case it turns out to be really hot & humid.

So, what can I wear under a grass skirt that won't look dumb and won't be uncomfortable. I plan to get a cute tank top to go with the skirt, so no bathingsuit bottoms.

Anyone have any ideas? This really shouldn't be difficult, but I've been racking my brain and I got nothin'!

Presuming you're thinking of using real plant matter, which can be itchy, I'd go with bike shorts.

OMG...heehee, no way . I'm thinking a cheapo from Party City And I thought of bike shorts, but I'm not really a fan. That being said though, it may be the most logical option.

Anyone else out there have an idea.

What about a nude pair of granny pantis/briefs over your REAL under things? Or you could get one of those nude (girdles?) belly sucker in thingys...but not the kind that go down over the legs. Just get it in a size larger than "suckin it in" size, so it'll be comfortable. That way you'd be decent, according to those who insist on decency, and it's no different than wearing a swimsuit.

in fact..I just got back from a luau party at the center here in town...they had some dancers come in to dance...under their grass skirts....(which were green leaves overlapped, very "hula" looking) they wore what looked to be a non-binding bermuda short in a Hawaiin print under it. It really looked nice and comfortable, without being too revealing. That might work for you. I'm going to a luau in October in Orlando...and am planning to make my costume...these gave me some good ideas. Have fun..whatever you decide to do...I know you'll have a good time!! Barb

I was thinking bermudas or boxers in a fun print underneath. I remember back when I was in Catholic high school, we used to wear boxers under our skirts!

I was going to do both the 3rd and the 5th, but now it's just the 5th for us
