costs and how to go about living somewhere for a few months

I am trying to decide if it is better to rent somewhere and then get the perks of being a Florida resident to go to Disney and other places.

Or should I do a vacation home and pay regular tickets.

Just wanting to know all my options I guess.

I totally agree with cherrybomb. I think worrying about ticket prices is the last thing on the list.

What are the cost associated with both options?
Food
storage
utilities
effect on taxes.

do that math and then make the best cost effeceint (sp) decision.

Ticket prices would be the last thing on my list to try and base a life altering decision on.

Ya tickets aren't a big thing on my list but it adds to finances so just weighing it all out. I know summer is not the best time to be there. But if you love it at its worst that I will love it more at its best. I have always wanted to see what it was like and there is so much more to do on that side of the state than from Oregon. Thanks again everyone!

wow...:confused3 some of these responses are less than..encouraging....:confused3 IDK, OP, I think it sounds exciting, the chance to move somewhere for a while,to see if you want to stay for a while.... I think you should go try it, go to DIsney as much as you can,and enjoy the adventure!!!

The thing is Hsmamato, I wish I had a dollar for every retiree who moved some place where they had fun without researching the "realities" only to have to move back.

Sure moving to Orlando for Disney sounds like an "adventure" except you can't live, eat and sleep Disney 24/7. Real life stuff like the cost of living, traffic, access to good doctors, access to good school, taxes etc all tend to invade the adventure.

Like she just mentioned, going to Disney in the summer may not be so bad, living in Florida in the summer is not some thing I would like no matter how much I love Disney because the bottom line is summer heat in florida is at least 4 months long. what are you going to spend every day at the Beach club pool?
