Is there any roller costers that wimpy people can ride? I love the excitement but get a little vertigo. I was wondering if there was any "light" costers that the Dis folks could recommend. Any ideas are welcome, I am just starting my park schedules for my trip in 6 weeks.

I'm a super coaster wimp but space mountain was ok, trying everest this year. Long as I don't go upside down i'm ok.

Barnstormer is zippy but short. So, it would be over quickly. BTMRR is a good one. Plenty of dips but not any giant drops. More the rattle back and forth kind of coaster. Splash Mountain is a log flume ride. There is one big hill at the end which you can see from outside and a couple smaller ones inside. The scenery that you float by is lovely and tells a nice story. I would try one of these three.:thumbsup2

I am a wimp and I can to Big THunder no problem.....I have done Rocknroller coaster but dont know if I would do it again.....

My friend called me from WDW a few days ago and told me that Space Mountain has two different sides to it with one side being MUCH worse/better lol than the other....is this true? I have not been on Space since the 80's because is was so bad.....er good lol.

What part of the coaster bothers you? I don't like heights, and I hate huge drops, but I love the "wild mouse" type of coaster like Big Thunder Mountain.

:thumbsup2 My DH is a coaster whimp. He will go on ALL Disney coasters including R&R. He is very prone to motion sickness and just took Dramimine in the morning and was very glad he tried the coasters. He is looking forward to going back to try them again. Hope you have fun.

I assume he meant Mission Space -- not Space Mountain

No she meant space mountain.... I went on Space Mountain in the 80's with my oldest and will NEVER forget that feeling and have on many occasions told my friend that story because she doesnt think Space Mountain is scary and doesnt understand why I would think it was......until this time. She said there is an A and B line and she must have always gone on one (lets say B because I dont remember which one she said it was) and this time her and her daughter went on the other side, A, and when they both got off they couldnt believe how different it was. She said the easy side is more like a mouse coaster kind of thing with very few actual drops but the harder side went UP first and then dropped and they felt like they were going to fall out of their car and it was much more intense and that now she know why I felt the way I felt that time in the 80's.

Is she going nuts........? lol

I'm what you would call a "roller coaster weenie"! :rotfl2:

I went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (we just got back last week), and I LOVED it! I was so nervous going on though, the anticipation, because I did not know how it would be. No huge drops, some dips and lots of sharp turns. Nothing dizzying though...I hate spinning rides or anything that makes me dizzy and this did not!

I also had the courage to try Test Track and Dinosaur. Not roller coasters, but considered thrill rides at Disney. Loved these too!

Disney has coasters but they are all tame. No big drops, loops, or corkscrews except rockin roller coaster. They are all designed for family fun not daredevil coaster riding. I would ride them all if I were you.:thumbsup2

My mother-in-law is a coaster wimp, and she can ride Goofy's Barnstormer, Space Mountain, and Big Thundar Mountain, and splash mountain (she thinks of that as a coaster because of the drop). She has not been sice Everest opened, so I don't know if she will try it or not.

Goofy's Barnstormer

Smooth side of mission space is nice too

I would not advise Space Mountain, Everest, or the rough side of mission space.

Big Thunder :thumbsup2 I actually enjoyed riding this one.
I'm a big wimp and hate heights :scared1:

DH just had me watch all the coaster on youtube to see if I thought I could do them. I am convinced on BTMRR, but not on Splash Mountain and definately not Space Mountain. I am the BIGGEST WUSS EVER!!! I hate the feeling of being out of control. I haven't ridden Soarin' yet either....kinda spooks me being up so high! :scared:

I hate big drops, but I can handle Splash Mountain. The small drops (inside the mountain) are fun, and I just close my eyes for the big one at the end and I'm okay. Also, the fact that you're on a solid base, rather than a coaster frame that lets you see everything beneath you, seems to help for some reason. Soarin' bothered me a teeny bit at the beginning, but that went away once the show started.

I was very hesitant about Soarin'. But my sister raved about it so much, as did my 7-year-old niece (she was 5 when they went on it), and they talked me into going on it before we left. So I went. And I loved it! I thought it was one of the best experiences in WDW and was glad DH went on it also (we had to swap because the kids are too small to go on). Looking forward to going on it again when the kids are bigger and sharing the experience with them too!

Next time I will probably try Splash because my kids should be big enough (we're waiting 3 years so they will be 4 and 6 when we go again). Maybe I will even try Space Mountain, on the tamer track. We'll see. DH swears that the major thrill of Space Mountain is the fact that it is in the dark and you think you are going to turn one way but then you go the other way instead. He says that's it. No huge drops or anything. In fact, he loves crazy coasters (HUGE fan of the Cyclone at Coney Island, and thinks the Scream Machine at 6 Flags is a tame coaster!), and thinks all the Disney coasters are "wimpy". Of course he has not yet been on Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, but he was on Everest, Space, BTMRR. He loves Tower of Terror though!!

Thanks everybody. I do get motion sick, heights don't bother me, but I might do like somebody said and take a Dramamine (I also have some of those patches from a cruise, I wonder if that would work?). I used to love costers as a kid and did several of these 20 years ago. How bad is Everest? That seems to be the one to ride. I just don't know when we will be back to WDW and don't want to wish I had ridden any of these after we get back home.
