My wife has Costco membership. If I set up Costco Travel Account in her name, can I rent the car? OR will she have to be listed as the renter and drive it?

Almost always, when a married person rents a car, the spouse can be added as an additional driver for no charge. Any authorized driver can drive the car, even if the person on the rental contract is not in the car at the time. T&C of the rental page will specify whether the spouse has to be listed as an additional driver specifically, or if is automatic.

The Costco membership is in my name and my husband is the person on the rental car every time we've never had an issue.

You get a fee second driver. We pick our car up tomorrow and the email I got said we need to show are Costco membership when we pick up the car so if your wife isn't with you that may be an issue. I've never used them before so not sure if they actually ask for the membership card at the counter.

We didn't pay any extra to get my DH a Costco membership card when I joined Costco. Perhaps you could get you own membership card and that would take care of the issue. Although I have never been asked to show my membership card when picking up the car, I have heard some people have.

My parents have the Costco membership and put the car in my name. They go with me to pick it up in case, but nothing has been said the 3 times we've done it. Twice at local locations (Pittsburgh/denver areas) and once at Pit airport.
