Costco saved me more than AAA

I had my AAA agent look up rental car prices for our trip in Sep. For a SUV ( 5 of us with a wheelchair so we need something roomy) using our AAA discount with Hertz was going to cost us 771 for the week :scared: so I gave up on that idea and figured that we would just use the Disney buses. Just a few minutes ago I was reading a different thread on rental cars and someone suggested Costco. Being a member myself, I went to the web site and checked it out. I was able to get the same SUV for only 339 :cool1:. I called and double and tripled check to make sure that was correct and that it included all the airport fees and taxes and I was told it did. Talk about a huge savings.

I always do better with Costco than AAA. Remember to keep checking because rental car rates fluctuate often. You can rebook and cancel the other ressie if it goes down.

Yay for you! I love Costco for booking rental cars! Costco now checks for all available discounts so you know you are getting the best price at the time!!

I have saved a lotover the years. Also check out American Express Travel. This has been a good site too. You do not have to pay in advance and no cancellation fees!

Renting a car is like getting cheap airfare. We got really lucky one night and was able to book airfare round trip for 9 people for $750.00 and then we we're able to book a 15 passenger van from 6/26 to 7/7 for $560.00. The normal airfare was $1,550.00....:scared1:. We are flying into Ft. Lauderdale from Detroit picking up my brother and his family and then driving the 3 hours to Orlando.. We have plenty enough room for everyone plus suit cases and groceries because we'll be saving a lot of money by cooking our meals and not eating inside the parks.

I love checking Costco for car rentals! Got a week rental in Anaheim for a total of $79

I will keep checking it out to make sure that if the price drops I'll know it. I did not even know that Costco did that sort of stuff so I was very happy.

I work for AAA and book my own vacations with Costco lol. I booked a cruise with them and got $50 OBC, 2 bottles of wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a free dinner for two! Love Costco!

AAA is not good for rental cars because they deal exclusively with Hertz, which is usually more expensive.

BTW this isn't true. We can book any company but Hertz is our partner. I know they're the most expensive and I make sure to mention them but do not push Hertz on people.

Love Costco Travel! We booked our Disney cruise through them. Not only did we get a great price, we got $500 back after we returned from the cruise! We shop at Costco and the $500 was on a Costco cash card, which didn't last too long:rotfl::rotfl2: It's easy to spend that in just a few trips!

I stand corrected. I know when I looked on aaa.com in the past it would only show me Hertz. Just went out there again and now see that I can pick other companies, but the default is still Hertz. You have to "turn on" the other companies.

I would also suggest checking Mouseavers.com. The car rental page hass a ton of codes for all the agencies in Orlando. Takes a lot of time, but check them all out for your dates.

Reason being, last April I was able to rent a minvan for 10 days for $220 including the taxes!! I had a great code...kept checking, rate kept dropping.

Hopefully, you can find an awesome deal there too!

I would also like to add that you should keep checking. I booked a car for June for 6 days through Costco for $354. I checked again a few weeks later and it was $154. Now its up to almost $400. With rental cars, there is no harm in cancelling reservations and making new ones. I keep wondering when the car companies will start requiring a credit card to make a reservation.
