I've seen lots of discussion and interesting information on using Costco as TA. Does anybody know if a Costco member needs to be one of the people traveling? Or, more to the point, can my Mother, who is a Costco member, book a Disney cruise for me and my family through Costco, even though she is not going to travel with us??

Thanks in advance....

I don't know for sure, but I would think that she could - especially if she was doing it as a "gift" for you. If she is the one paying, then I don't think they would have a problem with it. Otherwise, it is certainly worth the membership fee to get the discount. We have our cruise booked w/Costco and have been happy with the service so far. FYI, Dana at www.micdan.com had the same rates as Costco when I checked (but we had already booked w/Costco at that point).

I booked my cruise through Costco, as well. I made the final payment yesterday:Pinkbounc

I have been happy with the service so far and the price was the best I could find.

Since I booked my cruise about one year ago now, I have checked & checked with all of the TA's listed here, plus AAA & some others & Costco had the best price over all - even cheaper than my EBS. However, I had just paid the full payment that morning & was going to transfer to them (like I've done before with AAA), but was told you could not do that with Costco. You must transfer before the final payment is paid.

The TA at Costco told me that it didn't matter to them who was sailing, just that the person that PAYS (charges) the full payment to their cc must be a Costco member.
