I apologize if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it when searching (perhaps it's buried in one of many Costco threads). In any event, for those of you who have had Costco as your TA, did you pay for your DCL cruise in full on the date Costco determined, which is about 2 weeks before DCL's PIF date? Would you "lose" anything if it's not paid by Costco's PIF date? TIA.

That is just the date that Costco uses. To make sure it’s clients are good to go well in advance. The contract date of PIF is normal. Yet Costco wants to make sure it’s finalized to make sure it’s customers don’t have the unforgettable oops at D day like some have with other agencies.

Best bet though would be call and talk to Costco and see or make arrangements if you can’t pay by that day.

Yep, I did PIF according to Costco's date. I don't know what the consequences are if I didn't.

I asked them about this and was told it was so if there was a glitch we have time to get it fixed before DCL would cancel my reservation.

Which makes perfect sense. I like to pay mine off as soon as possible (I don't use Costco though as I don't shop there), but even if I didn't, I would never leave it until the day before. Even DCL's system can be wonky and not want to take payments.

I always try to pay mine off as quickly as possible too, I want to at least get paid off by the opening day for excursions so I can get a jump on those.

I am going to call to find out. It's not that I can't pay more than 2 weeks ahead, but I have ordered some Disney GCs that won't arrive until after Costco's PIF.

You can always use the GCs to pay your on board account. Depending on how much they are, of course, they may be more than you need.
