Cost to Upgrade from Preferred to Premier AP

I tried the search feature, but could not find the answer.

How much does it cost to upgrade from a Preferred to a Premier AP if you are half way through the year? Do they pro-rate the upgrade or do you pay the difference between the two passes as if you had purchased the Premier on day one?
