The various opinions here don't really matter. What matters is what the three adults involve think.

What do you think? Would you be happy with either split? Then talk to the other two adults.

If you can't talk about splitting the room costs, how will you be able to negotiate everyone's various desires/expectations throughout the parks?

Either way is fair if the parties all agree it's fair. Put it all out there beforehand and you'll be much happier! And if you all can't agree, you might want to reconsider traveling together.

Im gonna throw just one more wrench in this scenario.

At AoA the master bedroom/bathroom is about half the suite in square footage really. So suggesting that the solo traveler get 1) the largest bed 2) in a private room 3) with a private bathroom really makes very little sense. That puts 4 people sharing essentially the same amount of space (and a smaller bathroom) in one large room and 2 people per bed in smaller beds.

Personally Id put the 2 kids on the pullout couch together since thats the least comfy of the beds there. Then the single person on the Murphy bed since its smaller than the master but still very comfy. Then the other 2 adults share the master bed. In that case I would split the bill by 5 and each person pays for their family, since the solo traveler still gets their own bed but it accounts for the kids taking up bed and living space too. I guess that only works if the solo traveler is willing, but if they intend to give the solo traveler the master I would definitely make the solo traveler pay AT LEAST 1/3 of the total... its a huge spacial sacrifice to give up half your room to one person. Maybe the way it looks online is deceiving, but in person its a lot of space.
