Does anyone know how much the Mickey ears Xmas ornaments are and how much it cost to get them personalized? I was meantioning to a friend that I was going to buy one for each of us to celebrate our first visit for the holidays and she thought that would be a good stocking stuffer for her kids and asked me to get them for her. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not 100% sure but I think the large Mickey heads were about....$20. We ended up buying a package that had I think 12 or 15 smaller Mickey heads in a rainbow of colors and spend about $25. My thoughts were why spend $20 for one when I can get more, even if they are smaller, for $5 more! Someone will probably come along that can give you a more definate answer!

Your best bet might be that your friend sets a budget for you to spend. At the Christmas Store in DTD, there are so many things to pick from, you will be amazed. You can get Disney characters playing sports, sets of themed ornaments, unbreakable ornaments. I love going to that store.

go to DTD --items personalized while you wait.too many items to list but plenty under $20. Nice Christmas store---It's no Bronner's(Frankenmuth , MI) but alot of nice Stuff for the Disney/X-mas fanatic.

I just picked one up for a friend the other day. The large mickey head was $12 and I had them personalize it w/ her name, so it was $15.96 after tax.
:wave2:

A plain colored large mickey head with personalization of a name and date or full name comes out to about $18 with tax. With just a first name or a date, it would be slightly cheaper.

Thanks for your responses on the cost. We probably will get the large ones with their first names on it and the date. As for how we will get them home on the plane...very carefully in my carry-on with nothing else in the bag that could break them (and hope for the best). Either that or we will just have them shipped home.

I have brought home the large ones before with no problem. They will wrap them in a lot of the bubble wrap and put everything in a gift box. I have even put them in my checked luggage with no problem.

The last 2 times we have visited Disney we have gone the first week of December and usually waited until about halfway through the trip before we shopped and had a very hard time getting our ornaments finished before we left for home. They were about a week or 2 out with orders. I would make it a priority to shop at the beginning of the stay to try to alleviate this problem. Also if you purchase ornaments at DD keep your receipt and you can go to christmas store at MK and have them done. They only take orders for what they can get done in a day, so make sure you get there first thing!! We almost had trauma last time, as we would not have had finished ornaments arrive until after Christmas if we would have used the DD store. I made a note last time, but this year we are visiting in November so wait should not be too bad, but we are shopping for ornaments one of our first days we arrive.

Last fall I did a set of 4 of the medium sized red ones (Came in a box).

Ornaments were $16.00
Personalization (was pixie dust and name in gold) was $3.00 a piece so $12.00
Tax was $1.82
-----------------------------
Total was $29.82

I placed my order on October 3rd and it was ready for pick up October 7.

Here is the number for Disney Day's of Christmas. You can call and ask. Hope this is helpful.

This is all great information. I will make sure I go at the beginning of our trip so there is plenty of time.

Where is the best place to buy them Christmas Store at DTD or Christmas Store inside MK? If the MK store is better with orders than I would think that would be the best place to get them. But DTD might be easier to hide them in other shopping items.

Thanks for everyones help.

We always have ours sent back home directly which adds a small amount to the cost but we like this better than worrying about getting it home ourselves. So far no problem doing so.

I completely agree. Even in the summer, go early in your trip. This is extremely popular, and they are often very backed up.

As a side note, at the CHristmas store downtown they also have ornaments that are Mickeyheads that are dressed up. They are similar to an antenna topper but they are ornaments. They are really cute. I think that they were about $4 a piece. We got one dressed in a santa hat and on that looked like Mickey ears.
