Cost of sunscreen at hotels?

Hello - crazy question - thinking we may just be able to do carry on luggage for our flight. Although we would not be able to take sunscreen in a aerosol container - I know they sell it at the resorts - does anyone offhand know how much it is? thanks

We just got back from 3 nights at Pop. Unless my DH charged something to our account that I don't know about, one bottle of aerosol sunscreen will run you $14.86 with tax.

I'm betting that is a 6 oz can; that is the standard size.

By contrast, I just yesterday spent $16.88 at Sam's Club for a multipack of three 7.5 oz. cans. WalMart had two 6-oz cans for $12.97.

If you are not a big user of sunscreen buying a can or two at the resort might be worth the convenience. I couldn't do it, though; we're ghostly-white, and we go through 2-3 larger cans every day. Our usual supply of 12 cans for a trip would cost $178.32 at the resort, and $67.52 bought locally or brought from home.

hmm... - thanks - trying to skip out on paying the cost of a checked bag but think I just may b/c the cost of a bottle or 2 is about the price of bringing a bag. Thanks!

Maybe you could find someone else going at the same time that could help you out so you wouldn't have to pay for a checked bag. Or could you mail it ahead to the resort (not sure of the price to do it that way).

Not sure if you are considering a Grocery order but if you are, they show the cheapest 6 oz can of spray sunscreen as $10.69 at Gardengrocer.com

Although it's not a spray, on vacations we use Neutrogena's "Ultra Sheer Dry Block Sunscreen". It comes in 3 oz tubes, and is carry on friendly. Just give each member of your group a few tubes to put in their zip-lock bags for carry on.

When we went down for 10 nights in August, I checked a bag of sunscreen on the way down. I put the sunscreen in a sturdy cardboard box, taped the box shut, then placed it in a thin (and cheap) nylon bag. My plan was to throw away the cardboard box, and bring the nylon bag back in my carryon for the return trip ... but the zipper on the bag broke, so I threw the bag away as well. It was much cheaper to do it this way than it was to order from Gardengrocer or buy from Disney. We use A LOT of sunscreen ...

You might want to check one of the duty free shops at the airport after you land. Maybe it'll be cheaper than Disney?????? Not sure, but it wouldn't hurt to look! :goodvibes

I bet they have it at Hess at DTD! I forgot about sending my hubby there they first day to pick up a few things! Like the idea of the airport - will have to check once we land. Thanks for all the great ideas. Really don't want to pay to check a bag - looking last night at our luggage if I really scale back and wash clothes once I may be able to make it. Also this is a last minute budget trip and really do not plan on doing any shopping. Kids will have money to buy what they want (once gone its gone) and figure I should have enough room for that stuff.
