So we are headed to WDW Friday for a week. We have the DDP and my original plan for breakfast was to bring cereal for the kids to eat in the room in the am.

Does anyone have a questimation about how much it would cost per day for a family of four to eat breakfast not in our room?

That depends on what you are going to eat. If you are going to get a sit down buffet , approximately $70.00 per meal. If you are doing counterservice appx. $22.00 per meal. If you are just grabbing muffins and coffee about $15.00. These are just estimates, check out the menus on line that have prices posted.

We do the DDP and often use a snack credit for breakfast if we don’t eat in the room. I bring cereal and I also often bring stuff for pancakes and eggs but we stay in DVC villas so that may or may not be an option for you kitchen wise. At Main Street Bakery there is a wide assortment of yummies that count as a snack including warm cinnamon rolls and muffins. If we are in Epcot at night we may pick up a sweet pretzel to eat the next morning. Also, sometimes you can get fruit as a dessert at a TS res (if you are too full as we often are) and take that back to the room for breakfast. If you are paying out of pocket you could get a croissant sandwich for about $6 and juice/coffee for about $2. Some resorts have CS places that have breakfast platters usually under $10. Like the previous poster stated it just depends on what you plan to eat. Using a DDP TS for breakfast for us isn’t a good use of credits so if we want a breakfast buffet we pay OOP and keep the credit for dinner.

When we were on the DDP, we often used snack credits or the previous night's dessert (doggie bagged) for breakfast... ah yes, I had many a slice of cheesecake for breakfast. Hey, it's got protein! ;)

When we pay for breakfast in a food court OOP, it would typically cost about $5-7 for an adult plate, though some places have a bounty platter for $8 and change that could easily feed two people.

We also found that an adult order of pancakes would be cheaper than two kid's meals... but if you need kid's meals, they're about $4-4.50 each and include a drink. (The kid's often preferred the muffins though, for about $2.50 each.)

If you're there for a week, it makes sense to get the mugs for unlimited drinks, so that's $13 as a one-time charge per person... load up on coffee, hot chocolate, soda, whatever... unlimited refills in your resort for your whole trip.

So, roughly, I'd say the previous estimate of $22 for each breakfast in the food court for 2 adults / 2 kids is pretty accurate. A little more if the kids are bigger eaters, less if you share stuff around...

Great thanks for the info. I think we will do a combo. Doggie bagging the desserts is a great idea, I'm good with cake for breakfast ;)

WDW here we come!!

Best breakfast on our trip In Dec was an ice cream sandwich from Main Street Bakery. It's a snack credit and for most are large enough to share. Other snack credits are cupcakes at Starring Roles or Butterfinger cheesecake at Sunshine Seasons. A good breakfast is important!
