I don't know if I dreamed it or not but it seems that I read somewhere the costs of the 2012 dining plans. Can someone point me in the right direction for the prices if they have been published? TIA

Yep, they've been published and yep...they've gone UP :scared1:

Am I the only one who's not thrilled that the DDP went up almost $6 per night?? It was $45.99 per night in 2011 and it will be $51.54 per night in 2012

Jez, can't we get some sort of DVC dining discount? I understand that we can't get free dining but, how about even the slightest of discounts for DVC members?

I tried to add the DxDDP to our June 2012 reservation and the CM said that the computer was not accepting it. He said that perhaps the information wasn't finalized yet. I told him that the 2012 prices were on the member website and he said that he's fairly certain that they haven't been confirmed yet, otherwise, we'd be able to add it now.

I'm calling tomorrow to add our last night (paying cash) on to our OKW reservation and I will ask again. My dad is paying for the whole trip and he wants to get everything booked and paid for as soon as possible. (He can be worse than a kid at Christmas:rotfl2:)

On top of that, there are changes to each option. The QS plan now includes one snack option per day instead of 2 at the same price, the basic DDP will now include a mug per person to go with the price increase the the Deluxe plan will have seasonal additional prices in addition to the increase noted.

Amazing. And people will still buy. I have never spent $35 a day on Quick Service food. Just seems an outrageous price for what you get

Disney took a similar approach with the Food n Fun (and it's replacement plan) in the 90's. First they took away the more expensive recreation options, then cut dining options and raised prices. The replacement plan was essentially a prepaid gift card with a bonus of 10% IIRC and you couldn't even combine it with other discounts which were often more than the 10%. It's still possible to get value for the right situation but every negative change reduces that value and makes a portion of the options as non viable that might have been before.

Last time we went in 2010 we paid around $200 a day for the 5 of us (maybe 1 or 2 dollars more). Next time we will only have 4 since our oldest is in college, but the cost will be the same! Yeah the free mug is nice, but going up $5 per night is $35 per person for a weekloong trip--way more than a mug.

We may still on occasion do the QSP. We normally don't get desserts unless we do QSP so those trips will be calorie splurges for us. :) I am disappointed that they are cutting the snack as we would use thos efor breakfast. We have always come ahead on the QSP. For the Deluxe though, we likely won't get it any longer after our trip this year. We will probably just have 1-2 sit down meals each trip at our favorite places than then start eating in. To me, food is not what makes the trip anyways.
