Hello fellow Disney Brides,

I signed my contract for my June 2009 wedding in August 2008. At that time the prices were significantly less then what I am now seeing on the Wish Book. All of the paperwork I was given had different prices for venues, food, entertainment etc. then what I am now seeing on the Web site. This is frightening because as most of us are, I am on a strict budget and cannot afford to go up beyond what I was told in August.

For example, I chose a reception venue with the minimum expenditure being $100pp - now it has gone up to $125pp (along with all of the other reception venues). The Wedding Pavilion also went up to $3,000, yet when I signed my contract it was only $2,500. The photo packages have also increased. I am worried that the bar packages, cakes, etc. have also gone up considerably.

Will Disney honor the prices they gave me when I signed my contract, or will I be required to pay these new prices since my wedding isn't until June? I believe there are some things in my contract that are agreed upon, but as my parents have it and I do not I can't get it out to check.

Thanks!

We are getting married in July and my full understanding is it is the same as any other contract which is legally binding. The prices that we were quoted at the time of confirming/signing the contract and paying the deposit is the only prices we are working with. The prices go up with the fiscal year in october for most people and I'm pretty sure that is what disney did as well. If you are still unsure which I truly don't think we have anything to worry about just send a quick note to your planner or their assistant I'm sure they get asked this all the time!! HTH! :thumbsup2

I believe this is true for locations, etc but prices will go up each October for food and beverage. We signed our contract in May knowing that there would be a price adjustment. I think, since you signed in August, that the prices of food may have changed. Did you get a new BEO in October?

Also, as Bridetobe suggests, send an email to your planner and ask!

The contract has the minimums for the locations which locks you in I believe which means if you didn't get one of the reception locations at the 12 and had to wait til the 8 which would put you out to october than I think that would affect you more so.. Let us know!

yes prices are not locked in till 6 months, thats what we were told

The contract doesn't guarantee the prices of things, just the minimum amount you will be required to spend. Prices cannot be locked in until 6 months before your date. They will be reflected in your BEO when you get it.

However, many of the prices listed in the Wishbook are incorrect, so don't freak out until you get the actual prices from your planner. :thumbsup2

Ohhh my understanding was that the venues such as the wedding pavillion price as well as the price for the reception venue are part of the contract and other things such as the coach, flowers, etc aren't part of the locked in yet until six months... hmm. I guess I'll have my beo in a month or two...

The prices for my food and beverage went up slightly after I signed my contract. It was so little that I didn't even notice that much of a change.

I would e-mail and ask directly. When the prices increased and there was a buzz about it on here it, I e-mailed her in a panic and she assured me the increase wouldn't affect me at all because I had already signed my contract.
