Does anyone know the cost in cash for 1 night at a DVC resort (Vero preferrably)? I will have used all my points up, but want to pay cash for another night. Thanks in advance.

OR another idea, does anyone know where there is info online about how much any DVC resort costs with cash discount? THanks, Scott

DVC members receive 25% discount off of rack rates for cash stays booked thru MS - IF they have the room available. We stayed on cash with the member discount at VB last June in a 1bdrm for 2nights over a weekend stay for around $214.00 per night. Only catch is that they won't release the room for cash until they think they won't be able to book it with points sooo....if you want to book early, it may not be possible. But ya never know. Also CRO sometimes with have AP rates or other discounts available from time to time for DVC resorts so you could always check with them, but then you would most likely be subject to having to check in and out again if you combine with a points stay and there's the possiblility they may make you change rooms.

Anyway, HTH's some. Happy New year!!

I also am tentatively planning a "cash stay" at VB in June after using all my points at VWL and BCV before topping off our trip at VB. 1)How far in advance were you able to book cash ressie with DVC 25% discount? 2) Can you book with regular rate, and then apply the discount as it becomes available? Thanks.

Brave mom I am curious of your question too. SO $214 a night sounds about right I guess. Thanks for the input.

We are paying for one night (friday) cash basis .. adding that onto two night using points at Vero in June. We are paying for an ocean view inn room and I was quoted a price of 220.00 a night. Is that NOT with the 25% cash discount? Should I call back and ask about that? Seems strange that I would be paying more for an inn room (even with an ocean) view than someone did for a 1 bedroom at the same time of year.

I would check to be sure. I made notes after a phone call a few months ago inquiring about the cash rate. I have $240 for an Inn room/ocean view in June. With 25% discount that is $180 per night ($200.70 including 11.5 tax).

You can check rates on Expedia.com, or Travelocity.com I just checked on Travelocity for one Sat. night in March (Premier Season) since I am already booked for 6 days on points. The least expensive room listed was a studio for $300, next was InnRoom, which I have booked on points, was $355 per night. Of course, I am sure they would cost less in the summer, but I would still try for that 25% member discount.

If memory serves, I booked it sometime in April - so about 2 months ahead (which actually would sound about right since MS releases rooms at 60 days to CRO as well that they think they won't be able to book with points). But they sometimes will have rooms available for the cash rate even further out.

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I think they won't book with cash at all unless they think they WILL NOT be able to get the room booked with points first. I know that I called more like 3 months or more ahead to add a cash night onto my BCV's stay this past Oct. and they quoted me like $380 or more per night and I didn't take it and called back every few weeks and they not only had it available for cash 3 months or more ahead but the closer to the date the more the price went down because we finally booked it for $292.50 and $326 (added a weekend night at both the beginning and end of that stay with points booked in between)
