Cost for a 6-person taxi (or van)?

Can anyone give me a ballpark amount for a taxi or van that seats 6, from resort (not sure which one yet) to MK? The cheapest rental minivan I can find is around $520 (plus gas), so I'm thinking we can get a LOT of taxis for that rate...

You will need to reqeust a taxi van. However, it will cost you the same as taking a regular taxi cab. You can get around to most places for about $20 or so.

How does one "request a taxi van" at a Disney resort?

Call the front desk shortly before wanting to leave? How much before?

We also agree that we can take several taxis and not nearly approach the price of a rental van.

p.s. Remember that a "taxi to MK" will actually drop you at the TTC. Be sure to plan enough time if you're going for a ADR.

Just go to th Bell Desk and tell them you need a taxi that holds X people.

But I have to admit I'm curious why anyone staying onsite would plan to regularly use cabs when WDW transportation is free

We're not planning on doing it regularly, but it's nice to have the option, especially on those occasions when you've seen a couple buses come and go and the line doesn't seem to be shrinking much...

We have a morning ADR at the Polynesian, and if it's a choice between getting up super-early or missing the early bus, or getting a $20 taxi to make it to a meal, we'll take a taxi.

I also don't think we'll use one regularly, but it's nice to know how to when you're running late or want to get somewhere without using three buses.
