OK am I right in thinking that I can use 1 Counter/Quick Service credit for the chicken & rib combo meal in Cosmic Rays? Are there other places with such great value meals?

Yes, you are correct. Try checking out the menu for Sunshine Seasons, lots of dining options...also Wolfgang Puck Express/Marketplace is a terrific value for CS.

Thanks! I've had a look at a couple but was getting a bit bogged down. Will look at those now!

I agree, there are so many menus that it's rather hard to digest (no pun intended...well, yeah, it was intentional ) all at once. I probably over-plan but what I do is find a couple of CS options for each day of our trip, print them out and bring with so that we can decide what we're in the mood for.

we find the resort counter service places have good options on combo-style meals, especially at the values & moderates. You can usually get a good-sized plate of non-traditional fast food -- choices like pasta/sauce, Asian, and so on.

The post above mine is right! ASMO's have great counter service meals all day-we esp. like the baked/rot. chicken(you get a lot of chicken-easily shared between two people!) It's also a great way to check out other resorts in the world!!!!:thumbsup2

I also like to know what my options are (not that I don't know by this stage what you can get :rotfl:, but menus do change from time to time). What I like to do is to have options on opposite sides of the parks so that if we get hungry we don't have to backtrack from where we are or hike across to find food. This is especially true if you get hungry in the hour before the parades when you can't access certain parts from others due to ropes and crowds. Good idea you have there and I can confirm it works! :thumbsup2

Thanks all! Were staying at Pop so I'm guessing well be eating there at some point and it sounds like these food courts are good!

I've never stayed there but I've heard that their food court is one of the best!

I agree with the choice of opposite park sides, pain in the patootie to trek back and forth just to eat.

All great ideas. I'm trying to find about 2 or 3 from each park we like the look of. The idea of one in each half sounds like a great one!

My QS suggestions for for great large meals (suitable for sharing) and good quality:
For each of these places, the meal+dessert+ drink that you get for a QS credit on the dining plan would cost at least $15 OOP. Even if paying OOP these meals are a good value because they are suitable for sharing.

AK:
Flame Tree BBQ ribs, chicken, BBQ pork sandwiches served with sides.
Yak & Yeti Counter-Service has chinese food

DHS:
Starring Rolls (only open for lunch) gourmet sandwiches with chips or fruit and HUGE desserts.
This is the park where I spluge to eat at Sci-Fi or Prime-Time as a Sit Down.

EPCOT:
future world
Land pavillion sunshine seasons food court for asian, sandwiches, or the grill.
Norway Kringla Bakeri for gourmet sandwiches and pasteries.
Morocco Tangeriene Cafe for Grilled chicken and/or lamb platters with sides.

MK:
Cosmic Rays for chicken and rib combos
Pecos Bills BBQ pork sandwich or the fried chicken breast dinner when available
the fixin's bar is great here with lots of lettuce, tomatoes, sauteed onions and mushrooms.

Resorts:
Polynesian Captain Cookes (on the monorail line so each to get to) has pulled pork sandwiches, flatbread gourmet pizzas, aloha chips (sweet potato and other veggies made into chips) and self-serve dole whips. For breakfast tonga toast is available at counter-service.

Coronado Springs Peppermarket Foodcourt has an elaborate selection of pricey entrees.

Port Orleans French Quarter food court has muffaletta sandwiches quesadillas and beignes for dessert.

Common things of good value at food courts are the breakfast combo platters and the gourmet flatbreads (various types at different locations).

DTD:
Westside Wolfgang puck express (marketplace location is better)
Pleasure Island: Cooke's of Dublin for fried fish/shrimp/scallops and fried candy bars
Marketplace: Wolfgang puck express...ELABORATE MENU and best value hands down for CS credits.

Hope this helps everyone.
