I have seen from others here that they are mailing postcards in and sending them to:

PO Box 8629
Elmhurst, IL 60126

But, on the Walt Disney World website, under the official rules, it just says to mail in either a postcard or piece of paper with your name, address & DOB to:

PO Box 8650
Elmurst, IL 60126

So, which address is correct and does it have to be on a postcard or can it just be written on a piece of paper. I'd hate to think all my entries I've been sending in to the 2nd address have been wrong.

oh no! I've been doing the same thing. Anyone know the correct address?!

I am not positive about this, but I have been sending since May 2007 and I believe the first address was on the Website during 2007 and the second address appeared on the Website in 2008. A new P.O. box for 2008? Like I said I don't know for sure, but I noticed the new P.O. box at the beginning of 2008.

I have been getting the prepaid postcards from the P.O. and I keep a bunch all filled out in my car and try to stop by a mail box every day. Don't know if a piece of paper works or not.

Just my 2 cents.

Do you only mail one per day? The size of the post office ones are OK? Do you handwrite them all?

PO Box 8650, Elmurst, IL 60126 is the correct address for 2008. The other PO Box was for last year's contest. (I do wonder what they're doing with all the postcards sent to the wrong address! :confused3 )

I use the pre-stamped cards from the post office. Yes, I hand-write the information because this year's rules specify that.

You can mail one card per person per day.

Also, starting on December 19, 2007, eligible participants can enter without being present in a Disney Property by hand-writing their full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), daytime telephone number (including area code), and date of birth on a piece of paper or postcard and sending it with proper postage affixed to: P.O. Box 8650, Elmhurst, IL 60126, USA or if a legal resident of the UK: 2008 Disney Dreams Giveaway,483 Green Lanes, Suite 200, London N13 4BS, England. Limit one mail-in entry per person per day during the Giveaway Period. All mail-in entries must be mailed separately, postmarked on or between December 19, 2007 and December 31, 2008 and received by January 14, 2009 or they will be void.

I'll add this:

1. Only your address/phone/birthday have to be handwritten. Note that the Contest PO Box that you send it to does NOT have to be handwritten. You can save yourself a LOT of time if you can configure your printer to put an address (and a return address) on the front side of a pre-stamped postcard.

2. I suggest that when you hand-write the information on the back of the postcard that you rotate it by 1/4 turn. That way the post office will not confuse who the postcard should be mailed to.

Does anyoneh have any problem handwriting their personal info on the back of a postcard (basically the DOB is what I'm talking about) or am I being ridiculous?

Also, do you just put:
PO Box 8650
Elmhurst, IL 60126

with no "heading" meaning YOMD Sweeptakes, WDW YOMD, etc., etc.?

If you are concerned with fraud, your DOB is public information. Not a big deal. There may be a minor concern if you have a phone number that you wish to remain unlisted, but unless you're a public figure of some sort it shouldn't bother you. But...Never enter a contest that asks for your social security number (or other financial info) on the entry form (however they WILL need your SS# when you actually win).

I use:
2008 Disney Dreams Giveaway
PO Box 8650
Elmhurst, IL 60126

I put everything on one side like I am writing out an envelope so there is no confusion ever as to who it goes to. I let the kids or myself draw a picture on the opposite side of somehting Disney.

OOPS!!

I sent in some with no title. Is this a problem.

Also, someone said you could send in one per family member per day. Is this true? Does this count kids? I know kids have won in WDW as long as a parent/guardian is with them.

You should be OK as long as the PO Box number, city, state and zip code are correct.

The quoted text is from the official rules; it says one entry per person per day.

The official rules also address what happens if a minor is a designated winner (either in the parks or by mail). The parent/legal guardian is awarded the prize and has to take care of all the legalities.
Except as otherwise set forth in these Official Rules, prizes won by a person who is a minor in his or her state, territory, province or country of residence ("Minor") may, in Sponsor's sole discretion, be awarded to his or her parent or legal guardian, and, in the case of prizes that, in Sponsor's sole discretion, require winner verification, that parent or legal guardian will be responsible for completing the verification process and executing all "Prize Claim Documents" (as hereinafter defined) and otherwise complying with all requirements imposed on winners set forth herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and unless otherwise permitted by Sponsor in its sole discretion, in the event a Minor is the winner of any prize in which the winner is permitted to travel to, stay at or attend an event, site or destination, such Minor and any guest (as applicable) must be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian on such prize and, as applicable, the parent or legal guardian will be considered one (1) of the allotted guests.
