Quick question for you (Full) Marathon vets...Today when I registered for 2010, I put in an estimated finishing time of 5:00. What corral placement / start time do you think they will put me in?

Thanks in advance!

Probably D.

Did you submit proof?

Congrats for signing up!

5:11 got me corral "E" this year. 5:00 will probably be "D".

cough, ahem.............. since I ran a 5:01, I'll probably be there too. Please note that is the corral DIRECTLY BEHIND the elite runners, so it's probably a really good view of the start.

But even in corral E, my chip time was only 1:40 behind the clock time.

See you next year!!!

I had a 4:57 time and they put me in D. I liked this start better than the ABC starts because the group thinned very very quickly. Most of the people around us started running at similar paces right away and so there was little jostling and weaving. And, believe it or not, we weren't getting passed all that much either.
If I sign up for next year, I will probably try to get back in D even if I do qualify for C. I think for a 5 hour marathoner, its the perfect place to start.

How do you submit proof? When I signed up I just put in my time I didn't see anywhere to submit anything. Do you have to?

If in doubt, you can bring a copy of race results to the expo and they will give you a sticker with the appropriate corral to put on your bib.

If you arent'; putting in for less than a 5-hour marathon, you don't need proof of time.

I currently have proof of time that would put at a 3:45 marathon but I think it's more likely to be closer to 4 hrs. (even though it is almost a year out). Would those two times be in the same corral? And which corral would they be?
