Trying to save a bit of money for our next trip. We have never stayed here.
In the moderate level, we have stayed at both CBR and POR. We didn't care for CBR, and loved POR.
Would love the feedback on this resort compared to other moderate resorts.
POR is too expensive for our dates, as the only rooms left are the more expensive waterview category, so sadly, it's not an option at this point, unless something else opens up.

I don't have any advice but I'm also curious about this. I just booked csr for a last minute December trip.

I've stayed at CBR, POR, and CSR...CSR is my favorite!

CSR is slightly smaller than POR, and like POR the theming and landscape is really lovely. The reasons I prefer CSR are:
- central location with short bus rides to all parks
- better than average busing
- more dining options
- extra QS + drink refill right at the main pool
- largest hot tub on property
- longest moderate pool slide
- super comfy beds/upgraded mattresses
- barn doors between sleeping + bathroom spaces

Although I've never used them, CSR also boasts a gym, spa, and quiet pool with lap lines.

We stayed in a renovated room in July and they are wonderful! The new bathrooms are fantastic, the beds are higher so suitcases can fit underneath, and I love the reading lights built into the headboards.

I too, love POR (and don't care for CBR), but I enjoy CSR even more. Since it is a convention resort, it is more like a deluxe at a moderate price. Lot's of amenities, great pool, quiet atmosphere, nice rooms. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This all sounds great. I'm happy to hear all of this.
Quick question, does the pool drink refill have coffee or just the pop machine? I think the Ranchos area appeals to me, but convenient morning coffee is a must. lol

Glad to hear this from someone who has the same opinions as myself. I was worried, as the layout reminded me a bit of CBR. Glad to hear you like it so much.

So funny, I just came to get opinions on CSR and here it is!! I too love POR and could only get the discount for the last 4 days of my trip and need something for the first 3. I can get a great rate at CSR but it seems so unmagical to me. There will be 4 adults and a 2 year old and one of the adults is a Disney hater (my husband) so this resort makes me so nervous. Maybe since it's only 3 nights we can suck it up knowing we have 4 nights at POR.

We stayed at CSR before the refurb, and POR last trip. I prefer CSR for the same reasons above, the rest of my family preferred POR overall (which I also like for the boat to DS, YeeHaw Bob Jackson, etc.). We stayed in the Ranchos section, 6A and had a lovely corner standard room that overlooked a pond. Buses were great and not as crowded - catchy bus music too, park proximity seemed much closer - especially HS and Epcot, I loved our proximity to the main pool, fun pool slide, friendly staff, beautiful landscape... I love that they have more subtle Disney ques, like The Three Caballeros. After full days in the parks it is a relaxing, tropical oasis to return to.

I think, for a Disney hater, CSR is less in your face and more resort-ish. I bet your husband will like it.

We love CSR & have stayed there quite a few times. It's a very pretty & peaceful resort to stroll around.

Before we started staying at CSR we stayed at POR. However, there I only like the mansion area & dislike the bayou rooms. I did love the boat ride to DS there though.

Once we switched to CSR we stayed there yearly until one year they overbooked & had to move us to a different resort. We were upgraded to AKL savannah view & were hooked! And AKL has been our resort since then.

However, I'd stay again at CSR . We really enjoyed our stays there. The rancho area however, was our least favorite area.

I'm not sure when your trip is, but just be aware that there is substantial construction going on at Coronado Springs right now. I would think that it would continue well into 2018.

We stayed at CSR in February. It's the only moderate we've ever stayed at, so I can't directly compare but my husband and I really liked it. They hadn't started the room refurbishment yet, but we didn't have any complaints about our room. We really enjoy the more spread out resorts because we like to walk around and have lots to see/explore and CSR has plenty of that! We were in one of the Casitas buildings, close to a bus stop which was nice. One of the things I noticed was the water pressure seemed much better than usual for a hotel and the shower head was good quality. The new ones in the refurbished rooms look even better!

As far as the theme goes, I felt like Ranchos was the most detailed/realistic but was also my least favorite...just a personal thing because I'm not a big fan of deserts. :) I liked Cabanas the best. I have a work conference at the Swan & Dolphin coming up in November and we're staying at CSR for that...crossing my fingers that we will get a refurb room!

This is a great list of things I love about CSR. I can't really think of anything else to add other than I love the Laguna Bar - bartenders are great and the view is so nice.

CS was the worst moderate resort my family has stayed at! It's a beautiful resort, however thats all the positive I can say about it! My family stayed Christmas 2016 for two weeks, and felt as if it was a late 90's motel. The magic was not there! Carribean Resort is nice && we love the both Port of Orleans resorts .

We stayed at CSR last year for the first time (usual POFQ people and have stayed in the Tiana rooms at POR) and thoroughly enjoyed it! Great pool, quiet, beautiful landscape. We ate at the QS café several times and were satisfied, but I don't know how the construction is affecting that area this year. I don't believe you'll be disappointed though, we would go back!

I was thinking this same thing!! The adult to kid ratio leaned much more towards the adults when we were there in May. Don't get me wrong, there were some kids there, but it just didn't seem like they were everywhere, all the time. :)

We've stayed at CBR and CSR. I much prefer CSR. The location is very centralized, so most bus trips are pretty short. MK is the exception to that. We also had really good bus service here. We ate at the QS cafe several times, mostly for breakfast, and was happy with it.

When we where there, the construction was on one end of the resort and didn't really impact much.

We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

YES! Only Mod with a gym if it is important!

I love Coronado. I think the rooms at POFQ are better, but if POR/FQ are out of the picture, Coronado is a great runner up. The hot tub is WAY better, and QS breakfast is better too (IMO). I didn't think it was too spread out, but I'm a fairly active person so walking around doesn't bother me (and I don't have kids to wrangle either). The pool is nice & the bar is right there. I haven't stayed at Caribbean Beach so I can't compare, but lately CBR has been more expensive than CSR so if price is the main difference to you I'd go with Coronado.

I've stayed at POFQ, CSR and POP. I love FQ. CSR is not a resort we will visit again. I didn't care for how spread out it was and the bus situation was bad when we were there. I have never waited for buses so long both on resort and on Disney properties. Buses on property were often full and we'd have to wait for another and leaving parks or Disney springs bus after bus would come and go for other resorts and we would all still be standing there. I felt like we wasted a ton of time waiting on buses when we stayed there.

I realize there will be construction when we are there, as we are going Feb. 2018. That was another concern of mine. Although it doesn't seem to affect the common areas like CBR renovations are doing. I'm thinking it won't bother me too much. We are only there for 4 days, and we love to spend most of our time in the parks.
