Ok witch one is better??? Animal kingdom is 124.00 a night and Coronado is 84.00 a night . We are going around Christmas so would like it to be decorated and all . We also would like good transportation back and fourth to disney parks . With me being pregnant and haveing a three yr old i do not want to wait forever just to get back to the hottel. Also if you have any great stories about either please share . We have only stayed at shades of green so we know no other hottel out there . Please help :) Any help would be wonderfull:)
Thanks in advance :)

We have stayed at CSP and will be staying at AKL in FEb. We loved CSP it is beautiful especially at night. It is big -- but we enjoyed the walks. The pool is very nice and the hot tub is the largest on Disney property. The bus service was great. We never waited more than a few minutes.

If money is a big consideration, I don't think you will be disappointed with CSP. Acutally, I think all Disney Hotels are great.

If you can swing it, I'd pick AKL. I stayed there last Dec and it was beautiful. Your 3 yr old will love seeing the animals and there is a nice pool with zero depth entry, cool playground, too. The buses make no other stops and were excellent. Also, AKL has balconies, so you can sit out after your child goes to bed. Have fun whichever you choose!!:D

Money is not a huge diffrence . I mean we want to enjoy ourself . We always end up spending alot of time in the room and with me being pregnant i am sure we will spend even more time ...lol We always come back to the room hungry so we like room serivce or to be able to eat late in the evening . Why that always happens i am not sure but that seems to be when we eat on vacation ..hehe My son LOVES animals so i think the resort would be great cause of that but is there any way to make sure you can see the animals from your room . I keep hearing all these diffrent names and places ..lol I am just so confused . And my biggest thing other then the animals would be christmas decorations , I would hope they had some and that they were nice . I am leaning towards AKL but CSR dose not sound bad for the price . Thanks for the help any more stories please share . We just want to be in a confortable place with things for my three year old to do . thanks

I have stayed at both and they are both great resorts. Aside from the obvious lure of the animals at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the rooms are a bit bigger at AKL and have a bit more amenities. The food choices are a bit better and I personaly like the decore better. There are two sinks in the bathromm as opposed to one at Coronado Springs. The rate you got is probably a standard view room which, if you request a room close to the bus stop, would not be much of a walk. If you get upgraded to a Savannah view room your walk could be quite long so I would make sure you tell them your condition and have them note it on the reservation.
Coronado Springs is a wonderful place to and though spread out, has 4 bus stops so they are never super far away but depending on what stop you are located near you may have to wait through a few stops at the resort before heading to your detination. The pool is pretty awesome there too. The rooms are colorful and comfortable. There are exterior corridors here.
AKL is a better deal at $124 and is more upscale.

...only visited AKL (dinner at Boma 2 times) and, although I have never seen an actual room, I can only imagine that they must be wonderful. However, I HAVE stayed at CSR during the Christmas holidays, and this resort is beautifully decorated! There is a HUGE tree placed inside the fountain that is in the lobby, and when we were there, it was covered with gold and red ornaments(accented with SW colors) and white doves!! Another option you may want to consider is WL. Nothing beats this resort [and their decorations]during the holidays!!

How did you get such a good rate at the Coronado? I thought they were not giving AP rates there. Please let me know!

AKL has a gread kids club (Simba's Cubhouse) with a wonderful staff is your son is "brave" enough to go without you. I'm not sure if he is used to daycare or anything. But they have lots of activities and a big screen TV, games, etc. Last year, my 2 DS's (ages 6 and just 5) loved Simba's. They wanted to go every night. They give you a beeper and you and your DH could go to eat at one of the restaurants or even just upstairs to the room to relax on the balcony. Anyway, I think it gives parent and child alike a welcome break from each other.

We are Military sence the shades of green is cosed we can get great rates at other disney property . Thos two were the only one that intrest us but there are others as well. have fun trying to fine great rates !

thanks for the kids club info .... do u remeber by any chance how much it cost ?
thanks agian everyone

It was either $7 or $8 per hour but they feed them a child's dinner (chicken tenders, mac & cheese, etc) if they check in before 6:00 pm ( I think it's 6:00) Anyway, there is no extra charge for the meal so it's like getting the first hour or the meal for free. I figure that I can't feed my kid for less than that at Disney. I also think that there is a 4 hr max.
