Coronado Springs "Quiet Pools"

Heya folks, I've got a question about Coronado Springs.

I was reading in the information that they have a couple of "quiet pools". What exactly does that entail? I wasn't planning on bothering to bring a swimsuit on this trip (We're going first week of December), but if there's a chance that I can have a pool area where I can just chill and people aren't screaming, running around and cannon balling, I'll have to pack one

They're "quiet" in comparison to the main pool, which means there isn't a cast member on the PA system announcing games, music blaring, kids running around doing all sorts of competitions, a water slide, and a million people.

Families may still go to the quiet pool, and they might laugh and play. But generally it is much quieter than the main pool. We had to go to the quiet pool once over Easter break because the Dig Site was just slammed with people and we couldn't find chairs anywhere.

Well, in practice, "quiet pool" just means "it's not the big, main, feature pool." There may still be screaming, running around and cannonballing, but there's generally less of that than at the feature pool, just because the quiet pools are less crowded. Usually.

Actually, I think Disney calls them leisure pools. Quiet pools is a term of fan sites like this one.

Fair enough, I'll toss a bathing suit in my luggage and make the call when I get there.

OP, I will also say that I imagine the first week in December the quiet pools are likely to be quieter than during other times of the year. Not saying there won't be people swimming, especially if it's very warm, but it isn't peak season, and so there just won't be as many people swimming anyway.
Have fun! I love Coronado!

the quiet pools are one of the few things i liked about CSR.
it truly was quiet with very few people.
we had a group of 9 people (6 adults and 3 children) and we enjoy a quieter scene.

Our experience with quiet pools (at all the resorts) are it's like anything else at Disney, at one time quiet and manageable and the next visit loud and crowded lol. It just depends.

On our recent visit to CSR the quiet pool was the playground of a very loud extended family with 4 young girls shouting, splashing, running and jumping from the edge, etc.....it is Disney and they are only children. It did drive us to pack up and leave the pool deck as our intent was to relax.

Your experience will vary based on who else show up. These pools can be quieter but you can get noisy neighbors, especially if it has a laundry room there a lot of people may be passing in and out. A lot of the people that go to these pools do tend to be more relaxed, there are no slides so the kids tend to want to stay in the main pool. I typically find just 1-2 families or groups hanging out. Some bring pool toys as you can get away with it but honestly a kid floating around in a tube is much quieter than one running for a slide. Totally bring a suit and venture out one or two days as it often is quiet enough to read a book and just relax.

My friend had this hilarious story about how every night her and her fiance would go to a quiet pool for some alone, relaxation time, after the parks closed in the summer so it was close to midnight. This one child kept showing up without his parents. He would go into the pool and trail them around trying to chat with them and ask a stream of non-stop questions. Let's say his name was Billy, they would be like "Where are your parents Billy?", "Don't you think you are out here real late Billy, maybe your parents are worried?", the precocious kid was never actually missed by his parents so they got to babysit poor Billy every night :rotfl2:

We were at CSR a week ago, and when we walked past Ranchos quiet pool, there were never very many people in or around it.

Love CSR and our favorite area is Ranchos. We LOVE the Ranchos quiet pool and have often been the only folks there. At most we have had maybe 4 other people there. It's not far from the Main Pool so I think most just go to the main pool. Plus is you can pop over there for some eats or drink and take back to quiet pool. (from Touring Plans)

Casitas quiet pool is the busiest. It's the lap pool, it's bigger and by the fitness, spa and salon. (from Touring Plans)
