Dates Of Visit:
Various
May 2006

This was my first stay at Coronado Springs resort. I thought the resort was beautiful, but was not impressed with the Food Court at all.

I tried the fajitas, nachos, pizza and Asian Sampler. Honestly, I did not enjoy any of it.

The pizza was the most tolerable, but still not very good. The Asian food had a weird taste to it that I do not get at home from any Asian restaurant.

I did not like the "Mexican" food AT ALL.

Now, being from Texas, that may make me much more pickier when it comes to Mexican Food. I did not like this even a little bit. I ate enough to curb my appetite and left the rest.

I don't know who told them how to make guacamole, but it was nobody Spanish for sure.

The chicken fajita meat was not seasoned at all, it tasted like boiled chicken with salt and pepper on it.

I know people rave about Pepper Market all of the time, but I guess I am just a food snob. I know I am a picky eater, but generally I can make the best of it. In this case, I did not enjoy anything I tasted at the Pepper Market.

Though we never really had much of a wait for the food or to be sat, I still give the Pepper Market an F.

I was just there two weeks ago and had the soft taco special from the Mexican counter and was not impressed at all considering what it cost. My wife ordered something Italian and ended up asking a manager to exchange it for something else due to it not being very good.

We also had a problem with the waitress we had, she seated us, gave us our first round of drinks then apparently left for the night without turning the table over to someone else. I attempted to flag down the waiter nearest to us a couple times and he'd look over as I was waving for him then walk away. I ended up going to the manager a second time just so we could get a second round of sodas.

I don't really consider myself a food snob but I expect a decent meal and service when I'm shelling out $50 bucks for two adults, a 6 year old and a toddler and I'm being forced to pay a tip in that amount.

I pretty much agree with your scores except for on service in my case.

I stayed at CSR in Fall 2005. I liked the resort, did not like Pepper Market. The food was not very good and the CMs were absolutely miserable. You couldn't have paid them for a smile!:(

We stayed there a few years back and loved the resort...hated the food at the food court. The layout of the dining area wasn't bad and the fun colors and flair of the decorating is nice. Back then we were told that the food at this resort was not good and really thought by now they would have figured this out. Sorry to hear that is not the case.

Each time we go to WDW we try different resorts, this one would be on our list of resorts to re-visit if it weren't for the food at the Pepper Market.

We really diliked Pepper Market as well. Beside the food not being good and being way overpriced we just thought the system was awful. It is enough that we do not care to stay at CSR anymore.

Sorry you didn't enjoy it, hope the rest of the stay was good!

We stayed at the CSR for 6 nights and only hit the PM once, most of the rest of our trip we were eating in the parks and we ate off site one night also. I really liked the CSR and wouldn't let the PM stop me from staying there again, I just won't eat in that place again.

Just thought I would post a pro for the Pepper Market. :cool1: I have had very good food there and I really like the variety that you can get. It is great for the DDP as it counts as a counter service (and the 10% is included). You are permitted to get up and fill your own cups----service is not as good as a table service---::yes:: I am staying at a moderate for a week in September and I chose CSR, because of the Pepper Market.

Cindy :woohoo: (less than three months!!!)

I wasn't aware I could refill my own drinks but even if I did know that, I don't think it's too much to expect the waitress to get us one round of soda refills, specially since we were forced to pay a 10% tip.

I've seen a number of complaints about the staff there, maybe it's time to take away the automatic tip and make the problem members actually work for it.

Regardless I'd stay at the CSR again, it was a great resort and the kids loved the pool.

I agree that the service isn't that special. If I wasn't getting the DDP, I probably would not have made my September reservations there

I have never tried the pool, but I got a swimsuit for September :goodvibes now just see if I get enough nerve to put in on :rotfl:

Ate in the Pepper Market last night, with wife and co-workers. I'll not post a review, because it would be too consistent with most of the reviews I've read of the PM. Food: Indifferent. Service: Ranging from indifferent to eat-it-and-beat-it. For the amount of money, ridiculous, and the over-the-top decor doesn't help, or the fact that it all takes place in a space the size of a small blimp hangar.

Ohh the water slide is fun, I went down it a couple times myself :) Enjoy your trip.

We love the Pepper Market, and it has nothing to do with the fact that this is our favorite resort. We've never had a bad meal at the Pepper Market. We've had anywhere fro the rib eye to the fettucine, to a burger to chicken to waffles or eggs. I will agree that the servers are not the friendliest I have ever met, but we usually just get our own drinks. As for the 10%, when we are not on the dining plan, we just get a "to go" ticket because there is no charge and we eat outside. I would never not stay at a resort becasue I didn't like the food court. I hated the food court at the Contemporary, but we stayed there twice.

Shame that your experince wasn't better.

Thanks for the review-We'll be staying there in Sept. I will stay away from the Mexican food.

bytheblood, only two years late for a review...not bad. ;)

We love the Pepper Market. Best DDP value on WDW property. The food is delicious and fresh. The CM's are tremendous and work very hard. The 10% gratuity is shared among everyone at the PM, including the cooks.

CSR has their own bakery so all the bread items are made fresh. You won't find a better value CS location on the DDP.

The Pepper Market is the best! We eat many of our meals there each trip! The variety, the freshness makes for perfect meals for us and the kids. I like being seated because then you don't have to fight for a table after waiting in line to pay for your food and get it. It's a much better system.

We stayed at POR and POFQ and those food courts just serve heat lamp food and are terrible in comparison to the Pepper Market.

Freshly made food beats heat lamp food any day. We have been going to Disney for twenty years and make sure to eat at the Pepper Market at least three times per trip. The mexican is a treat, especially the nacho's. The drink server's could be more helpful and the host never seems to know where to seat people, but the food is worth those two down points. The made to order steak dinner at $52.00 for 2 people is one of the most expensive counter service meals on the dining plan and worth the trip to the resort.:woohoo:

I do agree with both of you about freshly made foods, but that does not mean it tastes good. :upsidedow

As for POR and POFQ, I have NEVER asked for a burger, chicken sandwich, meatball sub, breakfast items or anything else that they did not put it on the grill when I requested it. Sorry you got heat-lamp food, but in all of my visits, I have never had that experience.
