We're going 9/3 - 9/8 and I've heard that Coronado is going through a refurb. Anyone know more details or has anyone stayed there recently? How "invasive" is it? I love Coronado and I want to show it off to my boyfriend.... hoping it's not too crazy!

Thanks,
Pam

Yesterday was our last day at CSR. IMO, the only disruption from the construction (right now) is that you see it. You don't hear it from inside your room or El Centro, or even at the main pool. None of the amenities are effected.

We're not going till December.....and I'm hoping that it doesn't become the disaster that is CBR right now?

We stayed there for 3 nights last weekend. We went about 3 weeks ago for a weekend as well. The construction was much more noticeable this weekend than the previous weekend. There is a large piece of construction equipment in the lake. On our way back from our walk, there were crews of people working in the room near us (Ranchos). The construction was much more visible from the main buildings so they appear to be moving right along. Hard to say what the conditions will be 6 months from now.
We had a newly renovated room that was very nice.

Thanks everyone - it sounds like a little bit of an eyesore but everything is up and running.

Is there any info about when they are going to start on the big tower they are constructing? Thinking about staying here next April/May but not sure if that will be too much... definitely want to avoid a CBR type situation.

I just returned from there today. I was in Cabanas 9A room 9240. I booked last minute, so may have gotten a less-desirable room. It had not been refurbished, but I had stayed at the resort twice before years ago, and I figured it was my last chance in the old-style room, which I kind of liked, so I didn't mind.

My building was right next to where they are building the tower. I didn't hear anything, but then again it was a holiday weekend. There was a construction trailer kind of where my parking lot was. There are walls up when you first enter the property, so to me it did feel like a bit of a work-in-progress, but I was solo, just there for two nights, happy to be out of frozen Minnesota, and not in my room much.

So all I can tell you for certain is that room 9240 has not been refurbished and assume that is true of the rest of the building.

Wondering if anyone has an update on the refurbishments? What section are complete? etc...
