Corn Dog Cart at DL

The one in that picture is from my free birthday trip last September, but I have eaten them four or five times since then and they've all been the same size. I remember seeing posts on these boards that they have changed from what they used to be and are no longer as large, but they've been this way (like the picture I posted) since I moved to SoCal and started going to Disneyland which has been since February 2009.

Wow they've really gotten smaller....unfortunate...:sad1: Perhaps better for me in the long run though! :lmao:

When my DH and I lived in Long Beach, we would come once a week to eat the huge things and ride a couple rides....

Here's hoping I get a big one tomorrow!! :worship: ...yikes, that sounds reallly bad! :rotfl:

I usually go for the mini corn dog nuggets at Casey's in MK or the little Yak & Yeti cart near Flights of Wonder. Yum!

Oh at WDW...mini corn dog nuggets?? Have never heard of those but those sound awesome!!! I'd probably get carried away with those things! :lmao:

After visiting DL many times over the last 30+ years I had my first corndog last Saturday. It was yummy!!! And fairly good sized too!!!

I read the sign, but are the corndogs really freshly dipped and fried in the wagon? As a midwestern veteran of many state and local fairs, it just wouldn't be the same if they were prepped elsewhere and reheated in the wagon (like Canada/Epcot did with their elephant ears/beaver tails back when they had them).

Nope, they are really dipped there! That's one of the reasons that the line for the corn dog cart can be just as long as any ride! They make a batch of several at a time and let them sit under a heat lamp, so they aren't "made to order" or anything, but they are made in the cart throughout the day and sometimes you have to wait while they make more. Yum! I was already toying with making a day trip in the next couple of weeks and this thread is swaying me in that direction :)

Oh yay!:yay:

I was SO happy to hear that it's back! After 15+ years, this is THE year that I'm going to eat my 1st corndog at DL!!! Plus I've been telling DS about them (we never regularly eat this kind of food and he's super excited) and I would hate to be called a liar!;)

Oooh, that reminds me... does anyone have any pics to post of the actual corn dog from the cart?? Curious to see how big they are, think DS and I could split one?

I don't know but I have been hearing that the corndogs have changed and are not the same as they were before????People are saying they are smaller and fried in a different oil and the frank has also been changed. If anyone can verify this because the last time I had one was the beginning of 2009 and they were still huge....Can anyone shed any light on this??They were soooo good before and I don't know about now..

Ehh I don't think they are that big. I'd say they are normal corn dog size - maybe a little more batter than your standard corn dog, but the hot dog inside seems to be a regular size. You can consider me a DL corn dog expert lol, I eat one on every trip!

OH NO!!!! They seem to have gotten much smaller, that is pathetic....why would they mess with perfection????

I have definitely read the same thing on another message board and I think even in an update on another Disney fan site. I think the change occurred sometime in early 2009. We haven't bothered to try one again since. We did watch other people picking up their corn dogs for a couple minutes one day and agreed that they certainly look smaller than we remember, but not having tasted them ourselves, we can't say anything about that.

Those are both in WDW, the Little Red Wagon is at DL, I don't think anywhere in DLR has the corn dog nuggets.

I know. I can't get through an entire corn dog at DLR or DCA - they're way too big. The 10 little nuggets are more manageable for me. Oh, man, now I'm drooling again.

They're delicious! And you get 10 in an order (for $5.99), so there's a pretty good meal there. I get the corn dog nuggets with the apple slices (you can get a bag of chips, instead, if you prefer), get a frozen coke at the stand just a bit farther along the path, then sit in the little area overlooking the river. Bliss!

Oh sad!:sad2:

They look like a "normal" sized corndog. I had imagined these grossly huge corndogs but these just look like regular ones. Sadly I think my DS could eat 2 of these by himself. I cringe to think how many DH could eat:rolleyes1

The corny dogs in the pics look about 2/3rds the length & 2/3rds the girth of the fabulous corny dogs that were sold at the Corn Dog Palace in DCA before it closed. (& for that matter they look smaller than what the little Red Truck's used to sell as well). :scared1:

This is a VERY serious matter & I look forward to reading more on this as further information comes out. If any corny dog fans uncover the reasons behind this travesty, please report back to the rest of us. :cool2:

hound <----kind of having fun...but also deadly serious. ;)

:)

Ok just got back from a fabu trip to the Land....

I did order a corn dog from the shiny, new cart, and they dogs are smaller, but not as small as sonnyjane's dog...

I did take a picture of it, and I'll show you as soon as I upload it! :thumbsup2

On another note: Hound, I'm glad you're taking this matter seriously...I thought I was the only one! :lmao:

Leshaface....us cornydog lovers must be vigilant & must stick together. :cool2:

:lmao:

I had one on Saturday from the cart and it was about 2x the size of the one in that picture. Also had one about two weeks ago from the cart that was also significantly lager than the one pictured.

seeing this in black and white, starting to think I may have a corn dog problem :rotfl2:

Glad to hear they are larger now! That pic was pre-refurb. Maybe they are better recently!

:rotfl2: I think many of us have that same problem. At least it's a delicious problem.
