My #1 favorite is The Chimes located on the corner of Highland Rd and Chimes St. Great Louisiana style food and 130 beers on tap. Try the Blackened Louisiana Alligator for an appetizer.

You can also try Mike Anderson's for seafood, and Ninfa's for Mexican.

For fast food, I like Raising Canes chicken tenders. It started in Baton Rouge.

I'll second Raising Canes. We got one here about a year ago that is within walking distance from my office and it is very, very good. It is also the only place I have found that has "real" sweet tea since I moved here 15 years ago. Hooray for sweet tea in Minnesota!

I am from (well I lived there about 20 something years anyway) Baton Rouge and my wife is an LSU grad as well. What Corey is telling you is dead on on the restaurants. The Chimes is a good bar "on campus" and pretty laid back (or was when I used to go).

There are a good many restaurants very near LSU. One of the best hamburgers and probably a good place to watch the game is a place called BrewBachers (spelling).

Where are you guys training or can you say? My reserve unit was in Baton Rouge and we did a good bit of civil defense training with the State and Feds.

They have started popping up in Texas as well.

There is one in San Antonio airport as a matter of fact !

A second for burgers at BrewBachers. We ate there while in B.R. for the day for a meeting recently. Really good food with a place to watch the game.
