I just got my AP rate of $124/night at CS but have never been there. Is this a good deal? I am worried about the location. It seems like a pretty long bus ride to MK from there. Does anyone know how the busses are at CS?

My other options are CR for $384/night or AKL Savanna view for $292/night. That is a big jump but it may be worth it. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'll be watching this thread cuz I just got it too. :cool1:

have never stayed at CSR

Just booked CSR with a AAA jan/Feb special for $119. AKL Pool view was $155 but who wants pool view anyway!!!

I would like to know this, too. We paid $178.50 (AAA rate, discounted from a $210/night rack rate) for CSR for Feb. 19 -24. I would rather pay $119!

We got a special AAA Jan/Feb code. The code was not available for Jan 18 so we our trip back one day and tada...there was the $119.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It would have been 160 if not.

Why is it that the price goes by the first night and not cheaper for the nights after...we would have gone the 18th for 160 if the rest was 119. it does not make sense.

These prices are for the last week of March. Prices are good through March 30 but since we are checking in before the 30th, they will be good through our stay which goes into April.

In my opinion (and the rest of our family), CSR is by far the best value at WDW. Moderate price, but many deluxe amenities (mainly watercraft/lake activities). The food court is amazing, though some people will disagree with the format. We love the variety - it's like eating at the mall with the many choices they offer. If I were you, I would request Cabana building 9B - it's close to the food, bus stop, marina, and a great walk across the bridge to the pool. So, do not worry - save the money for food or other fun. If you have any specific questions about CSR, let me know. We've stayed there too many times to count.

I believe that February 18 may be the start of the next season taking you from value season to peak season. So everything after feb 18 should also be the higher rate. However you get a great deal by them making everything from the first night since that means you get your whole vacation value rate even though all but one night is in peak season.

for others from what I understand - the 119 aaa rate is for value season jan - mid feb. the 124 is the ap rate for march (peak?)

These are excellent prices for the last week in march!:thumbsup2 I started planning our spring break in Nov. and because I couldn't seem to touch a deluxe under $300 a night I ended up renting points from a DVC member. Next year I will think about waiting and see what happens!pixiedust: My kids really wanted to stay at AKL.

We requested any Cabana building (!) when I called CRO, but I bet lots of people are doing the same thing. I am still trying to come to terms with the possibility of finding out that we are assigned to the Rancho section (my least favorite)...but I am sure I will come up with something positive by February 19!

I just booked at CSR too. We haven't stayed here before, so any suggestions on which building to request would be greatly appreciated. We are traveling with 3 children, one of which is an infant. I can't wait! We moved our trip up from June to last week of March to take advantage of the discount. Rooms booked up quick! WOO HOO to those of you quick enough to book it!

If you "end up" with Ranchos - do not be upset. Yes, we love Cabanas, but the Ranchos are not a bad thing. We love riding bikes thru the Ranchos and it really is not that far away. Remember, you are at WDW - you walk 10 minutes to get from Splash to Space Mtn. It really is just a 2-3 minute walk to the Papper Market - and the pool, it very close. Just soak up the savings and enjoy the short strolls.

Are there bikes for rent at CSR? :moped: And, yes, the perspective on walking in the parks is a good one. I had not thought of it quite that way, but it makes sense. Thanks for the insight!

Stayed at CSR in August and really enjoyed it. :thumbsup2

See the link in my sig for our review of CSR.

IMHO the bus ride to the MK is the best bus ride from CSR to any of the parks. We drove to WDW and had our van available for the week and found that it was quicker for us to drive to the parks and use the AAA Diamond pass to park. The exception was MK. It was great to hop on the bus and go directly to MK and get off at the front entrance. Even with the AAA pass, driving to MK meant you had to park at the TTC, walk up to the monorail/boat landing and then ride to where the bus lets you off. And CSR doesn't share bus stops with any other resorts, so it's very quick.

Have fun!

We love CSR and that's a great rate!! Check out these threads and visit my CSR website below.

Best Food Court – Voted by DIS’ers
Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

Best Pool – Voted by Dis’ers
Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

Here are some good building choices. Don't count out rancho 7b.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.
