In need of Advice..please:)
My husband and I are taking our 5 children to Disney in August. We are also bringing my mother who is just as excited as they are..Ya know, Disney Magic runs in the family:wizard:
The last time we went was 5 years ago and 4 kids...this is our first vacation with all 5 children..needless to say we are thrilled!!!! The one restaurant my children remember and want to return is Coral Reef. I have been trying for dinner there for the past couple of months but no luck. Any advice..this is a must with them!!!! Thanks
Jennifer

Would you consider lunch? might be easier to get.

All you can really do is keep checking online. It appears you have a party of 8, large parties might be harder to get and more difficult to snag a walk-in and you are only a month out, if not sooner.

Tried for Lunch but they only had one and it was late...I was looking for something earlier so I could go back and nap the little ones!!! I know, PICKY, PICKY, PICKY I am!!! I will keep trying. Thanks for the advice!!!:goodvibes

You can keep checking, but this is one of the more popular restaurants that book up early. So going in an off time may be you're only chance. I'd book the late lunch for now, and keep checking. Maybe you could leave the park early that day for an earlier nap time, then return for late lunch? Good luck.

I agree with Sue M to take the late lunch res and keep checking online multiple times a day in hopes of getting something that will fit your schedule better. You can also subscribe to the August cancellation thread on the Dining Reservation board.

There are several factors that are making it difficult for you - Coral Reef is very popular, you have a large group, your trip is next month and people have been making reservations there since February. You may have to be willing to make some adjustments or compromises if eating at CR is a must.

Good luck!

iI know people will argue against this. (for some reason or another) but have you simply tried to lower your party size when making the Ressie... Try a party of 6 or even 4....I have on at least once or twice (maybe 5 or 6 times) showed up with more people then I booked the ressie for and have never had a problem with getting a table. (Do you really think Disney is going to turn down more money???) You might have to wait a few extra minutes but better then not getting in at all. Now,Ii know there is no guarantee and all the reasons people will say its wrong, but if your kids really want to go, here is an option that has always worked for us. just saying... Have A Great Trip!!!

If you book a smaller party size, you run the risk that they will not be able to seat your entire party.
