I am surprising DM with a mother/daughter meal at Akershus one night, so DH needs somewhere to take DF for a guy's dinner at Epcot.

Although I figured Germany would be the perfect place, DH is adament that he won't eat anything there. We're doing Le Cellier (ADRs permitting) as a family, so I've tried to come up with somewhere else.

DH and I made a bad experience at Mexico (as did my whole family on a prior trip), so that's out. He doesn't want to do Chefs de France with just my dad; which, I kind of understand since it is just the guys.

He also nixed Morroco and Teppan Edo (we go to a place like that here all the time.) Obviously, he's being difficult!!!

So, I'm looking at Coral Reef. I've read good and bad, so please let me know what you think!

We had a really good experience there in 2007! The King Crab legs were ENORMOUS and everything was delicious! I know there was just a review on WDWinfo that was not so great but we had a good time!

just got back from disney yesterday and coral was the best restaurant! delicious steak, great service and nice atmosphere.

In my opinion, the food there was just OK. Keep in mind, though, that I'm from New Orleans and can probably be considered a "seafood snob." lol

The ambiance is awesome. The huge aquarium walls are awesome. If they like seafood I'm sure they can find something on the menu. I didn't think the food was bad...just not my cup of tea. I prefer my seafood with a lot more flavor.

We have dinner at Coral Reef each trip. DS loves the steak, DD liked the chicken & I've enjoyed the steak & the mahi mahi. Chocolate wave for dessert:thumbsup2

Honestly, I'd nix the Coral Reef Idea...have you thought about Rose and Crown in the UK? Fantastic food...Very Manly according to my family. Good Food, Good Beer, and Good Music. They were happy.

Coral Reef is off our list for a while. The food was not bad, but as PP said, bland (We don't live in New Orleans. but we visit once a year and yes, Big Al PT, the food is AMAZING!). Portions were not very big, but the prices are. That said, if your DH and DF have never eaten there, it might be an option.

Absolutely love dinner at Coral Reef. The blackened catfish and the steak have always been delicious. I'm in the process of writing my trip report (8/6/09 to 8/15/09) and will soon be posting pictures of our Coral Reef food. Come on over for a read. The link is in my signature. Just click on the bottom one.

DH and DF have never been there; DF would actually get the steak as he is not a huge seafood fan. DH could go either way.

Ops, forgot to include DH nixed Rose and Crown, too. He didn't like the dinner menu. I know, DH is picky and I'm about to tell him he can just fish for his dinner out of the world showcase lake.

So I think really, their only option is going to be Coral Reef, but I want to make sure they'll have a good meal.

Thanks for the thoughts so far; keep 'em coming!

I gotta tell you, we didn't like Rose & Crown at all. Everything looked and sounded really good but it was just bland to us. But, that being said, we are from Louisiana and we like our things a little spicier than average.

It's on our list for our trip in December. My co workers who have gone thought it was really good so we are going to try it out as well!!!

Love Coral Reef! Wonderful atmosphere, Tony is a great waiter if you get to request one, and the food was great! There were 6 adults in our party last November and we all had a great time at Coral Reef!
