This trip we decided to book some different dining experiences. We have ressies at Coral Reef because the atmosphere looked interesting. My DH, DD and I really like seafood, not love but like it. I have read really mixed reviews on this place. Will we regret this choice?:

Nemofan -

I am anxiously awaiting my second trip to Disney in August and I immediately booked Coral Reef again! Our 1st trip was DH, DS, DN and myself - I like seafood but don't love it so I was also a bit concerned.....The boys loved watching the fish and gobbled up everything on their plate, DH loved his meal and so did I - I ended up having steak - filet and it was wonderful. So good in fact that like I said, I booked Coral Reef for this trip.

Hope you like it - we sure did.

No matter what you think of the food the atmosphere will not disappoint you. We are eating there this summer with the kids but we haven't eated there since 98. I remember my husband had steak and I had fish. They were both good. The dessert we ordered came with ice cream that had been steeped in lavender. It was the grossest thing I have ever tasted. It was like eating really fragrant potpourri. My husband and I still joke about that ice cream nine years later.

I dont do seafood, Dh does some. This was his requested place to go back to on this trip. It was wonderful in december, and the tanks kept DD busy so we could eat slowly for once.

Coral Reef has one of the best, if not THE best atmosphere in all of WDW restaurants IMO.

I don't even like seafood but they have a really good steak and some good non seafood appetizers. Their pineapple upside down cake is also to die for!!

Our group of 8 ate there last week and we really liked it. The food was good and our kids were enthralled with the fish and the scuba divers. The chocolate dessert (sorry, can't remember the exact name) was YUMMY!

We just ate there for the first time last Saturday. We all liked it. Husband had steak, I had Mahi Mahi, and son had kids pizza. We were there on our son's 5th bday, so I had called ahead for a diver and they sat us right next to the tank. It was a nice, enjoyable dinner.

I am a seafood fan, but have also taken on 3 seperate occassions non fish lovers. They LOVED the atmosphere, service and food. Great chicken dish and a wonderful steak entree.

I have to say right now that I had a TERRIBLE first experience there and have vowed never to go back again. It does have a nice atmosphere and I think it is like a dole whip, it is something you should try at least once. I will suggest the Chocolate wave, it was very good. Good luck and I hope you have a better experience than I did.

We just ate there last week and based upon what I had read here on the DIS, the steak was a highly recommended dish. So, I ordered it and it did not disappoint me! It was fabulous! Now the chocolate wave was good, but I wasn't that impressed by it. What I really loved was the personalized menu my DH had printed for my birthday and the sign a diver held up for me in the tank! We had a wonderful meal there and I would go back in a minute!
