hi all, whats your view on the coral reef restaurant at epcot, it would be for lunch, it would be myself and DD with DD7 and DD9, it is my DD's 9th birthday, I think she would like to watch the fish etc and the menu looks good, we have illuminations cruise booked for the night but are looking for somewhere special but not too expensive for a sit down meal to break the day up, can't be too exotic, DD7 is picky eater, but they have pizza at the coral reef. any views would be very welcome :flower:

I think it would be a good choice. Make sure you have the reservation indicated as a birthday and ask for a window table. Generally CR tends to be expensive, but lunch is a lot less expensive than dinner.

We eat there every trip. Always for lunch. Ask for the first PS for lunch. It's usually 12 and get there a little early to guarantee your table at the window. We are always so happy with the food. We can't go this trip though as DS(2) has developed a fish allergy...

I agree with Cheshire Figment completely... Coral Reef is a very cool dining room and the kids love the view..

Here is a link to the lunch menu for the room.... http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_crl.htm

This place has a dessert called the "Chocolate Wave"... 100% complete sin and worth every bite...LOL

Have a great time!

We ate lunch at Coral Reef for the first time in Feb. with our 3 sons (ages 5, 3 and 1). We had a wonderful time, and we're eating there again in May! My 5 yr old had the Grilled Mahi with mashed potatoes and green beans, he really liked it. And my 3 yr old had the pizza which he liked. But he also wanted his own mashed pots after seeing his brothers, so we ordered a side of those for him too. :) They both had the Illuma Blue Whales which of course was a big hit! My dh had the Creamy Lobster Soup and he enjoyed it, I can't remember what he had for his meal though. I had the Barbecue Salmon Sandwich (I almost always order salmon if it's on the menu!) and it was very tasty. We had a booth right near the aquarium so that was perfect. Our server was *excellent*. We have the DDE card, so our bill wasn't as big as it could have been. But even if we had to pay full-price, we'd still eat there in May. :)

I went there for the first time this past December, my family and i really enjoyed the Coral Reef :)

We were lucky enough to get a seat right next to the tank too, so we got to see all the fish swim by and made friends with some...well we waved, they weren't up for talking though

The food was excellent, we all enjoyed our meals. I think I got a chicken dish and i know i enjoyed it (just dont remember which one) and was very happy with it. They have cool blue glasses too for the drinks! The desserts were amazing as well, we were all blown away by what we each got. I got a creme brulee variation though i dont remember the exact flavor. Someone else got an amazing chocolate flavored dessert as well :)

This is a great place with a large selection of tasty food and a relaxing, classy, and fun atmosphere :)

Hi thanks for all your replies, to cut the cost down i was looking at the set meal for $20, it was soup or salad to start, then catch of the day or a chicken sandwich thing and then cheescake to follow, liked the sound of this and the price, has anyone had this? is this offer on all the time? will probably ring to make a PS tonight, I am in the uk and WDW is 5hrs ahead, so you are probably all asleep now! ::MickeyMo
