We are considering both Le Cellier and Coral Reef for out trip.

1. If you could only choose one of them which one and why?

2. If we have the DDP and there are 3 of us (DH, DD, 10, and me) can we only use 2 TS credits and then pay for DD and have her share our appetizers , or even eat one as her meal? I just hate the thought of all that wasted food. Our other DDP meals are buffet, so DD will get what she can eat (What a waste of money) but at least the food doesn't go to waste.

Anyone have any experience with this at these restaurants in particular? I know the "rules" sometimes vary.

Thanks for any info!

I haven't been to LeCellier - I'm going in Sept for the first time.

However, I have been to Corral Reef and DH, DS10, DS6 and DS2 and I really liked it. I didn't think the meals were giant sized and everyone ate all the food they were bought. DS10 was on the adult plan and he had the seafood souffle, the catfish with grits and the chocolate wave and ate the entire thing. We had ordered DS2 pizza OOP and he ate the whole thing and ate some of ours. We thought the food was really good and it was neat to watch the fish, although I did think the restaurant was a little dark.

For us, we're doing CR for lunch.

I recall on our last visit we *wasted* a lot of time heading to WS for lunch (at biergarten).

IMHO, I think the food at LeCellier is better but I'd go for whatever was the most convenient.

You'll get varying opinions about sharing on this board. Technically, dining plans are not to be *shared*. I don't see why you can't use 2 dining credits, and then order her and appetizer OOP. But I don't think it would be wise to give her your appetizer. Some places would probably allow it, and some would not.

We usually do both CR and LeCellier. LeCellier is of course my favorite, but CR is really good too. LeCellier is my favorite and CR falls somewhere about 4th...lol.
The chocolate wave is delicious...the atmosphere can't be beat. I guess it would depend on what kind of experience you want. Fabulous atmosphere with good food, or great food with good atmosphere. Tough call...lol. Good luck!

We've eaten at both and like both. CR has good food, we had excellent service, and the atmosphere is just outstanding. With some of the special touches CR offers, you can have a truly memorable meal there.

Le Cellier is our favorite restaurant at WDW -- we were LC fans back when LC wasn't cool! The food is wonderful, and we've never had anything less than great service at LC, which is why it is the one restaurant we always hit at WDW. We literally don't go if we can't get an ADR at LC.

I'm sure you'll be happy with either one -- I'd make the choice depending on a) what you can get for your dates (LC can be impossible), and b) whether you prefer the food at LC over the atmosphere at CR.

Note to the Red Sox Nation from the Florida Marlins: Don't get carried away with a World Series win -- it only happens once every 5-7 years!

I would choose leCellier for food since it was a good steakhouse. We are going there 2x this September.

I have gone back and forth with Coral Reef but we are skipping this restaurant this year. Last year my meal was very bad. I had the shrimp appetizer (bland), blackened catfish (too spicy) and the pineapple upside down cake (OK, but DH makes a better one). DH had a good meal- salad, strip steak...I don't want to order a steak here and that seems to be the only option that is well liked.

I do like the aquarium but we can see it just as well at the living seas.

Last year did Le Cellier and was great, called for ADR too late and Coral Reef was booked. This year called at 180 day and got both Le Cellier and Coral Reef booked. As for which is better I will not know till Sept. But Le Cellier I know was great.
As for the other question maybe this would help, ME and DW were on the DDP and my sister-in-law and brother -in -law joined us at LeCellier one night and Kona another night and they were OOP, we got separate checks at the same table and had no problem. And if you were going to share some things who would know? Going to do it this year again.
Can't wait till Sept.
